Why choosing a male pup is always a good option!

06/21/2024

I'm reposting this because occasionally we get crazy comments regarding the prices of our puppies.

We do not charge a fraction of what we've put into our puppies and what i invested when I chose to get quality over price. We could charge more, but we don't.

There is a reason our dogs are “So Expensive”, these are not dogs that just sit in our yard, eat ol'roy and when the females in heat she magically becomes pregnant while we are off living our life. 63 days later, we don't come home to a pile of cash born in the dirt and cold outside. Where we wait 10 weeks doing the bare minimum and send them off into the world to cash in.

We, along with other reputable breeders, spend tens of thousands each year to care for our dogs, quality food, care, and vet bills and supplies. When we have puppies, we are with them 24/7. They don't leave our sight for the first 4 weeks, and we continue to be extra vigilant about their care and health the entire 10 plus weeks they are with us.

We monitor weights and feeding (every 2-3 hours for 28 days) we bottle feed, we tube feed, sometimes having to go the extra mile with antibiotics, fluids, and other medications on a puppy who is not doing the best (and no most vets have no idea how to properly care for or help us with neonates!)

We routinely put our needs aside to ensure the safety of the puppies, sometimes to the point of complete exhaustion and sickness for ourselves.

We cancel our lives: vacations, events, weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays. Everything is on hold when we have puppies.

We are there 24/7 for our adopters for life. We are family once you choose our puppies.

We endure losses and hardships , happiness, and success behind the scenes of these perfect babies. Breeding is no joke. It's a lifestyle. A passion. A dream to better the breed.

When we don't have puppies, we still have daily upkeep and care of our dogs, family, and home. We also utilize this time for training and further educating ourselves so we can be the best we possibly can be.

It's not an easy job, mentally or physically, but we love what we do and we do it to ensure healthy, stable and well adjusted puppies are going to their new families who have waited and dreamed about them.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE, IM GONNA BUY MYSELF A DOG AND MAKE 50K BREEDING😂 MAKE SURE TO CHECK THIS LIL LIST⁉️⁉️
1. Can you take 20k and throw it off a bridge 🤷🏻‍♂️ with a 50% chance you might get back 30k and a 50% chance you lose it all?
2. How much do you really like cleaning 💩??Really think on this one- on the days you are sick, had a long day, depressed, you ready to deal with it because their are NO days off.
3. Are you ready to persevere and keep going when you lose the dog closest to your💔 heart?
4. Do you have 4-6 hours per day for the enrichment of your dogs? (Keep in mind this goes up with every dog you add)
5. Can you afford anywhere from 500-5k vet bill at any given moment?
6. Are you available to cycle all of your dogs for outside time when a female is in heat so a fight does not break out?
7. Do you love the sound of puppys whining? Don’t forget that new litter you couldn’t wait for needs to be fed every 3 hours on the dot. Team no sleep.
8. Can you afford 500 a month in miscellaneous dog expenses, food, treats, toys, bedding etc.?
9. Are you educated enough to take care of a litter that needs tube fed or has neonatal conjunctivitis? (Just examples, many things can go wrong with neonates- and quickly)
10. Are you ready to miss holidays and birthdays and other events with family and friends, because your dogs come first? Forget about a vacation.. what’s that?
This is just the BEGINNING of a list. If your in it for the 💰💸money just stop while your ahead.
We’ve invested more time, money, sweat and tears into these dogs than anything else.
It’s a lifestyle, not a come up.

HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisingly states: “I can buy a cheaper pup elsewhere”. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.
No dog is “just a pet”.
Behind every pure bred puppy/dog is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. A reputable breeder does not breed dogs without papers, that does not protect the integrity of the breed. Registration (papers) are records of lineage that document bloodline and allow one to research any possible health issues present in the lineage. When you tell a Breeder you don’t care about papers what you’re really telling them is you couldn’t care less about the health of the puppy you just want the cheapest thing you can find! When you select to buy a puppy from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every pup ; both dogs owned and every pup they’ve sold for its lifetime. This breeder will skip holidays, miss sleeping, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their dogs . The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in puppies that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any puppy/dog who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question.
A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about... In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do tests, echos, x-rays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register litters, research pedigrees, de-worm, as well as microchip their puppies and get them evaluated by specialists.
Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they are not making money off the sale. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made so they need to be confident its the right fit. Many times saying more no’s then yes... A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Because a dog is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly person's therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!

Worth the share with so much truth in this article. Responsible breeding and owning multiple dogs is a lifestyle and commitment that many are not able to comprehend. 7 days a week and 365 days a year with our lives revolving around the dogs.

Paula
Just a quick note to let you know that my husband and I are so completely in love with our Lola. She is so smart, playful and loving. Thank you for being such a thoughtful and responsible breeder. The goody bag was so generous and awesome. We have used everything and those have been her favorite toys and teething things. Again, Thank You! Big Hug! You are awesome!

Copied.....NEW PUPPY OWNERS…….

As puppies head to their new homes I wanted to touch base on a common issue that breeders come across with new owners.

Realistic Expectations

You see the breeders pictures and videos and The pups are all social. They are quiet in the pen. The breeder shows you videos of them being totally relaxed, happy, playful. All looks amazing and you bring your puppy home.

Then reality hits. The puppy may cry in the crate for the first few nights making you tired and agitated. The happy social puppy is refusing to greet the half dozen overly excited friends you invited over to see your new puppy. Or the overly excited playful children you have at home. The puppy refuses to walk on a leash. Many are wondering how did my perfect puppy turn into a nightmare.

So let’s discuss realistic expectations of when a puppy goes home. First of all the puppy has been in the breeders home since birth. They had their mother and often littermates. They had their routine, were taught expectations and were completely in their comfort zone.

Now suddenly they are taken to a totally new environment. Picture yourself being dropped into an unknown country, often in a different part of the world. You know only a few words of their language. Differnt trees, animals, smells, temperature and people. Now in the middle of this we are switching up your routine, decide to have a party with people you dont know, and ask you to do jobs you have no idea about. Overwhelming to say the least.

This is what every puppy goes through when going to their new home. Stress manifests in different forms. From not eating, reluctancy to play and greet people. Being apprehensive at the vet’s office or as strangers reach for them. Diarrhea, vomiting and depression can occur.

So what can you as a new owner do to help your little one acclimate?

***Please restrain from visitors and ABSOLUTELY no outdoor walks, pet stores, etc until fully VACCINATED!!***

- most puppies take 3-4 weeks to acclimate to their new home. Repeat after me THREE to FOUR WEEKS sometimes even Longer! Not a 1-2 days. I can’t stress this enough about how much time is needed for a dog or puppy to feel comfortable in their new home!
- limit guests during the first week. We understand you are excited to show off your new baby but they need time to adjust. Plan on waiting 1-2 weeks before inviting people over
- ask guest to sit on the ground and let the puppy approach them. No squealing and grabbing the puppy
- set up a good routine
- restrict the puppy to a small area of the house. This not only reduces them being overwhelmed but also allows you to watch them
- don’t expect a 8-13 week old puppy to walk on a leash. Instead work at home with a leash where they are comfortable. Let them drag the leash, use treats to encourage them to walk with you
- if your puppy is refusing to walk give them time. My first trips to town with puppies a walk around a small block took 1 1/2 hours. We only move when they initiate the movement as they need time to take in the different environment
- understand your puppy needs time to see you as family. Expecting an immediate bond is unrealistic
- train your puppy. This not only helps you to bond but the puppy to look to you for direction and input
-Children are also big stressors to tiny fragile puppies, please keep an eye on puppy at all times when around children.
- lastly be patient. Don’t declare “omg there’s something wrong with this dog”. Nothing occurs overnight. Outings should be planned at puppy speed. So while you might imagine a fun walk around the lake in reality your puppy might only be able to handle walking a short distance that day.

Remember if the puppy was wonderful at the breeder’s house but now is struggling, you as the owner, need to help the puppy adjust which takes time, patience and training. Have realistic expectations and give the puppy positive experiences. Each puppy is an individual, don’t compare your current puppy to past pets and judge their behavior based on how another dog handled things. Lastly, try to see thing’s from a puppy’s perspective and adjust situations.

THE DREAM THAT MANY WILL NOT UNDERSTAND:
My Dogs are my personal dream.
One day when I am very old and when I can not walk anymore, it will be in my heart as a trophy of my memories.
Every time I am with my dogs, I think about how wonderful they are.
I stopped talking about it to those who do not understand, and I learned to communicate with others of the same mindset.
I have met some amazing people I now call friends from all over this big world because of my dogs.
I spent money that I did not have, giving up many things, but all these things are not worth even one special moment with my dogs.
They are not just a pet or a thing that I own, they are the lost part of my soul and my spirit.
My dogs have kept me sane in troubled or lonely times.
My dogs have kept me safe.
And when someone says to me: "It's just a dog", ... I do not answer. I just swing my head and smile. The average person, can not understand the emotional uplift I get from my dogs. They are the best Therapy in the world .Those with the same mindset know what I mean.
A dog..... only the person who loves them understands it.
Wishing good Karma to my friends and all their dogs...
And the adventure continues…
