We settled on the name Bernard for our grooming gone wrong Doodle. He had his neuter today and he is not enthused to say the least 🥹 They cleaned out a few of his wounds, but otherwise those are healing nicely 😔

Gil is the last of Greenley’s litter and has basically grown up in foster care 😩Gil is very dog friendly and has spent time at doggy daycare making lots and lots of friends. He is about 1 years and 4 months old, weighs 46 pounds and is a Pitbull mix.
Greenley has so much personality! She is friendly with other dogs and has also attended daycare. No cats or small animals as she would like to play very hard with them. She is obsessed with water and loves when someone sprays a hose for her to chase.
We are looking for separate homes for both Gil and Greenley. We know their families are out there!
Parker is another soul saved from the dumping grounds in Cleveland, Texas.
We estimate him to be about 9-10 months old and weighs about 55 pounds.
Parker is a sweet and gentle soul. He has both cat and dog friends 😍
He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Parker is looking for a forever home!!

Spock is thrilled for his freedom ride out of ACS today!!
A volunteer met him at the shelter and noted he was really scared out in the play yards. She had to carry him inside, all 70 pounds 😮
Our foster picked him up today and said he walked great on the leash and jumped right into her car 😂
We are excited to get to know him better and find a name that suits him.
Meet Jake ❤️
This handsome and affectionate boy is a social butterfly, always eager to explore new places and make friends-two legged or four legged. One of his favorite ways to say hello to people is by rolling onto his back, inviting you for belly rubs and chest scratches.
When Jake isn't playing, he enjoys lounging around the house and will often choose a cozy spot near his foster family. He loves to cuddle up next to you or lay his head on your chest or lap, often giving you kisses as he settles in. He's equally content to lay on the floor, usually with his head near or on your feet.
We think he is about 2 years old and weighs around 70 pounds.

Celine Dion may have moved to another State, but she continues her search for an adoptive home 🐾
Celine was rescued from a shelter in Houston. Her foster mom took a job promotion in North Carolina. Once she was settled, she headed back a few weeks ago to pick up Celine ❤️
We think she is about 3 years old and a mix of a few breeds- our guesses are Weimaraner/Retriever.
Celine is an energetic dog who is always so happy! She is eager to play with other 🐶 and loves to have a friend to run around with. She really enjoys going on walks, has a silly side to her and is very loving.
If you are in the Charlotte, North Carolina area and want to meet her, let us know! She can also transport to some of the surrounding areas too.
Hope saw a vet last week ❤️🩹
She has started on medicated baths to help heal and improve her skin. She has a few “flaky” areas so we hope she gets some relief very soon. She has an 👁️ infection which is also being treated.
She has a great appetite and as you can tell will need to slowly, but consistently, gain weight.
Our vet thinks she is only about a year old and surprisingly is negative for heartworms and tick borne illnesses.
X-rays were done and her pelvis was crushed at some point 😩. She has a wide range of motion despite this injury. She is able to walk and does not show any signs of pain. Surgery is being discussed, but she needs to be healthy before going down that route.
She heads back to the vet for a check up early September.
Hope has an amazing donor who is MATCHING all donations towards her care until 8/23 🎉🎉

Big Al seems a little excited to jump on the transport van to his new life!
He was rescued from Harris County shelter in March. He has patiently waited for a home to call his own.
Thank you to his foster for taking the most amazing care of this guy. She lives over 3 hours from Houston and when she saw his face on the euthanasia list, she immediately reached out to help.
Transport was delayed a week which created a few challenges, but thanks to our amazing community, Al is on his way!!

Overall, she is doing well. She was in some pain the first few days and was able to get around her cone. She has a small scratch and we are monitoring.
She is one of so many dogs dumped in Cleveland, Texas. It is illegal to dump animals, but with no enforcement there is nothing to stop people from doing this. Too many dogs die in horrific, painful ways. We are grateful we can help as we are able.
May is a young dog who is very playful and energetic. She will do best in a home with another dog who enjoys playing. She is very sweet and eager to please. She can be nervous when first meeting new people, but warms up.

Goose was found by his foster roaming her neighborhood with another dog. She immediately took them in and reached out to rescues for help.
We think he is about a year old, weighs about 45 pounds and is a Husky mix.
He is an active guy who loves to play with his energetic 🐶 friends. He thinks everyone is a friend and happily greets both dogs and humans.
He pulls a little at first on leash and then falls into stride. We have no history with cats. He has met small kids (under 5) and was friendly.
Goose is very sweet and loving. He is looking for an active home. He got his name because he is a silly "goose." He loves to flop onto his back for belly rubs.

Momma Cleveland and smallest of the litter, Detroit saw a vet today.
We haven't been able to get a firm stool on mom despite trying many avenues. You can see in Detroit's picture, the small lump on his side/stomach area.
Cleveland has hookworms and heartworms 😭 We are not too surprised by the heartworms, but always remain hopeful a test will be negative.
Detroit's abscess was drained and we will monitor to see if it returns.
All of the puppies (including Detroit) are putting on weight and in great health ❤️🩹

We thought we had resolved Blondie's coughing. About a week after she finished her medications, the coughing started back up. With a little bit of vomit 😢
She went back to the vet and they have decided we need to start heartworm shots now. She will get her first shot on Wednesday. She will wait 30 days and go back for two more shots.
Heartworms are the freaking worst. We deal with them daily in rescue. Cleaning up other people's neglect.
Yes, we could be upset the shelter showed a negative result. Or we could say we understand the maturity process of a heartworm and that it takes 6 months to show a positive test once that worm has matured.
The real issue is this dog who lives in a State where heartworms are prevalent, should have been on prevention. She was failed in terms of her basic care. Now, she is hacking and coughing with little reprieve. It's simply not fair.
We will care for her through this treatment process. We hope this will finally put her on the path to better health.
She is otherwise a happy girl who loves to hold her food bowl when she eats. And loves chasing water from a hose.
Martin was rescued from a few weeks ago. He is an older guy and as you know seniors require different medical often times than younger dogs.
He is unaltered and his teeth look and smell awful😷 He is otherwise in great shape.
We had bloodwork done at a vet so we can make sure he is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia. We will have the results back this coming week and figure out a plan from there. Our hope is to have him neutered and a dental completed at the same time.
He is not real interested with the other dogs in the house and is happy to co exist. He follows his foster mom around the house. He knows “sit” and “shake” 🥹
We are really grateful we could help him out.
Vero has been in our care for 6 months 😮
She is about 1.5 years old, Retriever mix and weighs about 50 pounds.
She is friendly with other dogs and LOVES to play. She is full of energy and would love another dog who wants to run around with her. She also loves to play fetch. She is able to settle down too.
Vero is very cuddly and affectionate. We do not know how she would do around 🐈⬛. She shares a home with kids ages 8 and 10 years old and does wonderful.

Dumped in a 🤬🤬🤬 cardboard box by a set of mailboxes in Cleveland,Texas.
Things are only getting worse for the animals in Texas.
We think the puppies are maybe two days old. This momma labored and delivered TEN puppies to only be scooped up and put in a freaking cardboard box and left for god knows what. Can you even imagine the stress??
If not for humans like .zully we would never know the horrors that happen to dogs in Cleveland. We would never be able to help if we there were no posts.
A woman had just left a foster summit when she saw the plea to help this family. She immediately reached out and said if you can guide me I will help them. “I can’t leave them there.”
And she didn’t. She went and picked them up and they are in an actual safe environment 💜
The runt is not wanting to eat. He is being bottle fed and it’s a struggle right now. He most likely has gone without nutrients since he was born. We don’t know what will happen but we will fight as long as he does.
We are calling them the City crew. They have places to go in this life and we are honored to play a part.
Also, stop shaming street animal networkers for taking pictures and “not helping.” They are all maxed out with animals at their houses. If you can’t foster the animal posted, donate or share their post then kindly keep your negativity to yourself.

Levi Strauss (formally Panther) is on the hunt for his forever people 😊
This guy is maybe a year old and weighs about 40 pounds. He was saved from euthanasia at the county shelter in San Antonio.
Levi is SUCH a love! He has bursts of energy and then seeks out his foster mom for some pets. He has shown great manners and does wonderful playing with other dogs.
He shares a home with 6 year old child and enjoys running around the house with them. He is housebroken and does well when crated.
Levi loves to carry his favorite toy around the yard. His tail is always wagging and he knows how to shake!

We were contacted to see if we could save this mom and puppies from euthanasia in San Antonio. They had been moved to the pre-euthanasia building and sat there all day. It was unclear if they survived or not.
With the help of several people,we were able to tag the entire family. Mom and three of the puppies are with a foster in Austin. The remaining two puppies are waiting for spay/neuter surgery and then will head to a foster in San Antonio.
Initially, the shelter information had this family listed as "small breed." It was believed they were all under 15 pounds.
Can someone say "Catfish" 😂 Turns out mom is more like 30 pounds and puppies are all over 20 pounds at an estimated 5 months. The joys of rescue 😀

Blondie could not wait to drive away from ACS in San Antonio!! This momma was previously rescued by a shelter foster when her puppies were adopted and she was left. She had been in foster care since April. She has struggled with a fierce upper respiratory issue which resulted in many trips to the shelter vet. The shelter foster could no longer get her to the vet visits, so Blondie was returned to the shelter 😩 No sooner did she set foot in the shelter, did she find her name on the euthanasia list. Shelter staff swept her into the office to buy her some more time 🙌 Thanks to a new foster offering to save this girl, she is now safe with us AND safe from never returning to the shelter again. Pay it Forward Friday ❤️ Many of you know we were 1of 5 recipients of a $50,000 grant from SpotOn Fence. What you maybe don't know is there were three shelters/rescues who did not win any money. We along with 3 of the other winners asked if we could give a portion of our grant back to be split among these three organizations. Meet Johnny 💙 This guy was rescued from the county shelter in San Antonio, Texas about a month ago. He is a 2 year old Husky who weighs about 58 pounds. Johnny loves to play hard with other dogs. He runs around the yard for about 20 minutes and then calls it good. He is looking for an adopter who has Husky experience who understands and loves his breed. He can be stubborn at times, pulls on leash, does wonderful in a crate, independent and wicked smart.
