While your breeder may have told you that your Doodle is hypoallergenic, in some ways it is true, but in others it is not. All dogs shed. Old hair dies and falls out just like any dog. Doodles have a top coat that traps the hair underneath. If you don’t brush your doodle, the hair that is in the under coat will mat. When you brush, it is important to brush all over and get the undercoat. This can be achieved with ”Line Brushing”. You can talk to your groomer about proper techniques and how to brush, they would be more than happy to show you! Remember, your groomer is not a miracle worker and won’t be able to achieve the beautiful puppy cut if the coat is not in good condition. Daily/ every other day brushing can prevent matting!

Ticks can transmit dangerous bacteria to your dogs body. If you need help finding a good preventative that fits your price range, please contact your local vet and they can help direct you! 🐶♥️
