We cannot rescue or adopt ourselves out of cat overpopulation. NC is # 3 in the country behind California and Texas for most shelter animals euthanized 🙀with 75% of those animals being cats! 😿(Source - Best Friends)

Cats are a ‘symptom’ of a much larger problem. People who fail to spay/neuter their cats or the cats they feed are the real problem. Therefore, we must work at the root cause of cat over/population through education, Trap-Neuter-Return and low-cost spay/neuter.

While the nationwide veterinarian and vet technician shortage is impacting abilities to secure spay/neuter appts., there are still opportunities available through organizations like Luckycats.org. If you’re willing to make the effort to be part of the humane solution to cat over-population, reach out to see how we may be able to assist you.

Our Story

Given the rich and intense relationship most pet owners share with their animal companions, the loss of a pet can be very painful. How could we feel any other way when these faithful companions have brightened our lives and filled our hearts with unconditional love. We understand these feelings. We will support you and your family through this difficult time and help you honor your pet in a way that brings you comfort. We offer private cremation for personal pets which means your pet is cremated individually. Each family we serve receives a complementary ceramic paw print and a hand carved rosewood urn. In addition, we take photos of your pet's nose and paws to keep on file so you have the option to order keepsakes that incorporate special features such as this. We also offer transportation of your pet from your veterinary clinic or your home 24 hours a day. There are many ways to work through the grief of losing a pet, and Pet Pilgrimage offers support to anyone in need. Our grief support group meets every second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm, and we hold a Pet Life Celebration (a day of remembrance) annually on the second Sunday of September at Pet Pilgrimage. We are here to help any way we can at a time when you need it most.
