Paws & Claws of Morganton Whether grooming, lodging or playcare, our mission is to provide the best care for your pets. We now have two boarding locations.

Paws & Claws offers luxury boarding, doggie daycare and professional grooming services. We want to provide your pet a positive grooming experience that will make him or her enjoy their special spa day. Providing your pet with a stylish yet easily maintainable cut is our specialty! Have a pet that is full of energy or is lonely during the day and needs some social time? Our doggie daycare is the pe

rfect place for your fur children to socialize with other pets of similar energy levels. Our luxury suites provide a home away from home for when your pet cannot travel with you. Each pet will have his or her own suite with a full glass door that protects them from other guests but still allows them to see out no matter how small. We make sure all our guests get lots of potty and play time in our play yard, at least 5-6 times a day! The Pet Village has 10 suites, an outdoor potty area and two indoor play areas so that your pet gets plenty of exercise and time outside. Grooming is an important part of pet ownership. Long-haired and double coated dogs such as Siberian Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Great Pyrenees, and Labrador Retrievers need regular maintenance to remove undercoat and keep their skin healthy. All "oodles": Golden Doodles, Labradoodles, Aussie Doodles, etc. need regular trims to keep their hair mat free and flowing. Even pets who are bathed at home need regular nail and foot care to keep those feet looking good and to keep the nail at a proper length to prevent nails from growing into paw pads (which can lead to a vet visit).
Did you know that your groomer sees your pet more often than your vet does? Here at Paws and Claws we get to know each of our furry clients and can recognize changes in body condition, weight, and demeanor. During the bathing process we feel every inch of your pet and check for lumps or bumps. When drying, we look at the skin to check for any skin irritations, rashes, or ticks. While we aren't vets or vet techs, we do notice changes in your pet that may warrant a call or visit to your vet.

Videos

Here at Paws and Claws of Morganton we do more than free play and work on basic obedience. In this video we have Emily working with Miss Dolly on jumping through a hoop and “checking in” with Emily to get a treat and hear what her next command is. The entire daycare staff loves the pets they care for and spend time with individually and as a group.

Our trainer, Zoey, working with Stalker. Today is his first day of Training Camp and he’s doing so well!

Something new is brewing here in our daycare program. Sneak peaks. Here is Luna the wonder pup learning to "wait" at a gate or doorway. Zoey is training to be the trainer and doing a fabulous job. If you are interested in what's coming, please keep checking our social media or ask next time you're at the shop. 2nd video in comments: learning "place".

Our daycare staff has begun basic obedience lessons with the pups sprinkled in throughout the day. Here is a great video of Charley practicing his downs. He looks so proud of himself after his lesson!💕

The sun came out today and everyone loves playtime outside, especially with new pools for summer. As you can see, Sonny loves the water!!
