Today is also my last official day at the SoP, however I will just be moving next door to WVU Medicine. Thank you to all my friends for allowing me be part of your lives and who have provided me belly rubs, treats and most importantly love. It’s not goodbye, but see you later 💛💙🐾

Long post and PSA on ticks: Last week I developed some tenderness around my ears, and even though my ears didn’t look infected I went to the vet to get it checked out. During the exam my blood work came back positive for Ehrlichia. Fortunately, it was caught very early with only symptoms of ear tenderness (likely around lymph nodes) and mild fatigue, but it could be much worse if left untreated. I am going on four weeks of doxycycline and should be back to perfection after that! Even though I am on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention and get frequent tick checks I still got infected. The vet said I was the second dog of the day on preventative medication (another brand) who tested positive. We wanted to share our experience for all fur parents to be on the look-out for ticks and their potential diseases because they are out strong right now. I still smiled with all the treats and love I got at the veterinarian 💛💙🦴🐾
