Hi, I’m Dr. Amy. I became a Veterinarian in 2005 and since 2008 I have been blessed to call Morrison, Colorado, my home. There are many challenges and rewards in being an animal healer, but helping families through the process of making difficult decisions and assisting with the passing of their pets has been one of the hardest, but most rewarding aspects of this work. I have found great meaning in providing a calm, comfortable space for family members and pets to experience those final moments with dignity and peace.

Saying goodbye is not easy…it is sorrow, pain and deep grief. However, we CAN create a moment for our pet, and ourselves, that is filled with beauty, love and peace. I’m sharing my family’s farewell day to our sweet Lucille to highlight the love that underlies the sadness. We made her elk steak and rice, went out to herd the donkeys once last time and surrounded her with her favorite things. We said farewell snuggled together in our warm, cozy home. We miss you so much, Lucille.
