Saying goodbye is not easy…it is sorrow, pain and deep grief. However, we CAN create a moment for our pet, and ourselves, that is filled with beauty, love and peace. I’m sharing my family’s farewell day to our sweet Lucille to highlight the love that underlies the sadness. We made her elk steak and rice, went out to herd the donkeys once last time and surrounded her with her favorite things. We said farewell snuggled together in our warm, cozy home. We miss you so much, Lucille.
