LVS started its journey on a modest 0.5-acre plot, and with consistent growth each year, we’ve expanded our farming operations. This year, we’ve added another 0.5 acres, bringing our total to 2 acres in 2025.

In the greenhouse, we’ve begun sowing onion seeds indoors for early spring planting. Alongside onions, we’ve also started seeds for kale, chili peppers, and a variety of other vegetables too.
Looking forward to seeing you at the spring season.

LVS Farm never used synthetic fertilizers on our land. Instead, we focus on sustainable practices like cover cropping and crop rotation to maintain soil health.

This year, we are using a combination of Abruzzi rye, legumes, and Thakkai poondu (தக்கை பூண்டு)as cover crops.
• Abruzzi rye is an excellent winter cover crop, known for improving soil health, preventing erosion, and suppressing weeds effectively.
• Thakkai poondu, enhances soil fertility, repels pests naturally, and contributes to organic matter.

By using this combination, we aim to enrich the soil naturally while supporting sustainable and innovative farming methods.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving.

Living in harmony with the earth is a privilege, and I’m grateful for the chance to care for it and give back.

As we celebrate, let’s appreciate the gifts of nature, the support of those around us, and the importance of giving. May your tables be full, your hearts calm, and your lives filled with gratitude.

Planting Garlic

Most garlic varieties are best planted in late fall or early winter, about four to six weeks before the ground freezes. This timing allows the cloves to experience the cold period they need to develop into healthy bulbs.

Garlic typically takes 8–10 months to grow from planting to harvest, though the exact timing depends on the variety, climate, and care it receives.

Happy garlic planting!
