Shichon/ Zuchon puppies

The Shichon, or Zuchon (breeds actual name!) is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Bichon Frise. They are unique in that they keep their Teddy Bear look throughout their lifetime, unlike other breeds these dogs will not grow out of this look once they are no longer puppies. We have been raising perfect little Teddy Bear Shichon’s or Zuchons for five years. Our puppies and

their parents receive many compliments about their looks and temperament everywhere they go and rave reviews from their families and everyone they come in contact with. We have received questions from vets, groomers, doggy day cares, training centers, doggy parks about where such a perfect little puppies can be found, as they don't often see such an amazingly balanced dog very often. According to research into Zuchon's (aka hybrid, Shichon, Shih-Tzu, Bichon), the breed was given their Teddy Bear name when they were originally created for handicapped children due to their calm, relaxed dispositions, easy train-ability, and general Teddy Bear appearance. They have proven to be ideal for those who needed a soft, cuddly and loving little dog just like a Teddy Bear that would happily put up with hours of snuggling without becoming irritated or nippy at any age, from puppy to adult. This disposition has been tested around four year olds…the dogs remain a lot calmer than the kids! lol
Shichon’s /Zuchon’s range in size from the tiny 5 lbs to the larger 16 lbs, but we have found that most of ours commonly fall right in the middle of this range. They come in a variety of soft, lush coats and gorgeous colors from black & white, white tri-color & brown tri-color to the more rare reds & blacks, and our unique, long lashed beauties sometimes have the very rare chocolate or apricot coats and brown noses with golden or hazel eyes. So far, our puppies have had no health issues past or present, with the exception of one having a cyst on an eye that only required a small clip at the vet’s office, with no stitches. These charmingly delightful playmates have a marvelous even, calm disposition, after going through the usual puppy stages. They are naturally playful entertaining little clowns, with incredible intelligence and an uncanny ability to catch on to everything really fast. Well known for their desire to please their loved ones and easy train-ability, these little ones, with their fun loving attitudes and heart melting expressions get along well with other pets and people. Our puppies are 100% home born and raised, right here, under foot, pre-pampered, and lovingly cared for for, and often are potty trained by the time they are ready for their new home. We add extra insurance of this by sending home some ‘scented’ papers for your new puppy, plus they have slept with socks and tee shirts belonging to their new owners prior to leaving with their new ‘parents’ so that the transition is easier on both the pups and the new parents! It seems to have worked like a charm in every case. These sweet little pups are raised with care, love and disapline, ensuring that they are socialized, and ready to leave their original parents. We spend a great amount of time playing, teaching and bonding with them. Their parents also play an important role in this as well, teaching them to play tag, roll over and other games. Our puppies are one further mix…we cross - bred the Shichon(Chip) to a Malti-Poo (Sister) to further their intelligence (from the poodle) their hair (from the Maltese) and also to remove them one more step from the flatter face of the full-blooded Shih Tzu, which sometimes causes sinus problems, and also the unflattering overbite, common in the Shih Tzu breed. What we came up with is a very unique blend of four breeds, all shedless, which have very sweet faces, a calm demeanor, easily trained to do tricks, make good companions, and are small enough to travel well, easily carried in your arms or a pet carrier, are amazingly sturdy and healthy, and are always happy, loving and gentle. From online sources;
