Talbot Run Summer Riding Camp 2025
Weekly Sessions June 16 – August 15
9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Come and enjoy friendship and horses at Talbot Run Equestrian Center Summer Day Camp in in Mount Airy, MD. We are celebrating our 21st year and we are fully licensed by the State of Maryland. Learn to ride or improve your riding skills in a safe and relaxed setting dedicated to teaching balanced seat riding and horsemanship. In addition to two riding lessons daily, campers will learn to groom, tack and take care of their horses. A variety of fun un-mounted lessons will be offered including horse anatomy, breeds, tack care and outdoor activities. All campers will have an opportunity to trail ride weather permitting. In all camps lessons for our more advanced/intermediate students will include instruction in dressage and jumping. At the end of the week, the campers will have an opportunity to share what they have learned in a presentation to their friends and family. In addition, we will also offer a Mini Specialty Camp, Just Jump Camp, an Eventing Camp and a Musical Extravaganza Camp for those who are interested. Week 1 June 16-20 Regular Camp
Week 2 June 23-27 Regular Camp (limit 10 riders) /Just Jump Camp (must be able to canter 18 inch courses of 4-5 jumps to participate) (limit 12 riders)
Week 3 June 30-July 2 Mini Specialty Camp – different disciplines each day – ex. jump games, cavellettis, musical drill, games, trail, cross country depending on enrollment riding levels.
Week 4 July 7-11 Regular Camp (10 riders)/Eventing Camp (must be able to ride safely in the open over obstacles for cross country and jump a course of 2 ft. jumps at the canter.) – limit 12 riders
Week 5 July 21-25 Regular Camp
Week 6 July 28- August 1 Regular Camp//Just Jump Camp 2 (must be able to canter 18 inch courses of 4-5 jumps to participate) (limit 12 riders)
Week 7 August 4-8 Regular Camp
Week 8 August 11-15 Musical Extravaganza Camp for all (plus all our regular camp activities)
• Cost: $500 for first week for full day camp. $475/session for additional weeks for siblings or individuals in multiple sessions.
• Early Bird Payment - $450 per week – may not be used in conjunction with multiple week or sibling discount. IN order to receive the Early Bird discount, camp sessions must be paid IN FULL by Jan 31. You may sign up for multiple weeks at the Early Bird discount price.
• 3 day Mini Camp in July - $300/Early bird $275.
• Otherwise, a non-refundable $250 deposit per session is due with the application if you do not wish to take advantage of the Early Bird price. Balance is due the first day of the session but may be paid at any time. Payments can be made via VENMO or check made out to Talbot Run. Spaces are limited so sign up soon! We are often full by early February.

Great final holiday weekend at TREC-pony club Holiday Potluck and Gamblers Choice with 30 riders and fun prizes Who else but us hosts 70 pc members and families when it’s 35 degrees! Sunday jump clinic with Tim Bourke with 21 riders-lots of learning and great riding! Tim was a great teacher and everyone walked away with lots of homework!
