This is a public service announcement to anyone interested in acquiring an English Springer Spaniel. The two puppies pictured here are the ONLY two colors that purebred English Springer spaniels come in. Black and white. Liver and white. With or without ticking or roaning. With or without tan points (tricolor).

There are currently people all over the country producing dogs in such colors as red, orange, lemon, sable, blue, and even Merle and claiming that they are purebred English Springer spaniels. Please do not be duped by these ‘Greeders’. They are producing these crossbred dogs for profit only. Regardless that they might claim that the dogs are AKC registered, the fact is that the registrations are falsified. It is not possible for purebred Springers to exist in these off colors. Those crossbred dogs are NOT DNA tested for breed purity despite the fact that the people selling them will make false claims that they are ‘tested’. They won’t say exactly what they are ‘tested’ for nor will they provide any acceptable proof of breed purity. They cannot, because they have used hounds, setters, other spaniels, etc to get what they are marketing. They also do not do any health testing on their breeding animals. They are churning out puppies for profit only!

If you are thinking of getting an English Springer spaniel, please do your research. Talk to long time preservation breeders who are devoted to the breed and committed to maintaining it for the future. Go to the Parent Club website www.ESSFTA.org. Go to AKC and look for Breeders of Merit. Help us keep our breed pure to the breed standard . Whatever you are looking for, show dog, performance dog, hunting dog, family companion, we, the protectors and preservers of the breed will help you find the dog that is perfect for your situation.

Markings in this breed don’t matter. COLOR matters! Liver or black only!

Banks is looking for his new forever home. He is almost 2 years old and intact. Banks will need a home with NO other male dogs. He also struggles with bit of anxiety in regards to big crowds.
