Montgomery County Animal Services is a department of the County of Montgomery responsible for enforcement of laws pertaining to animal issues in Montgomery County as well as providing public animal sheltering and animal adoption services. To report a stray or nuisance animal please call (910)572-3067 or email your name, phone number, description of the animal, and address of the last known location of the animal to [email protected]. Animal Control officers work 7A - 5P Monday - Friday. To visit the Montgomery County Animal Shelter for inquiries about adoptions or to surrender an animal, the shelter is open to the public 8A - 3P Monday - Thursday. Friday and Saturday hours are 8A - 11A. The Montgomery County Animal Shelter is located at 442 Landfill Road off Hwy 24/27 West of Troy.

What a fantastic weekend for Montgomery County Animal Services! 🏡

We witnessed pure joy as several lucky animals found their forever homes through loving adoptions. ✨ And a big shout-out to the compassionate souls who stepped up as fosters and those who are fostering to adopt, providing love and care while these animals await their perfect match. 👏 We couldn't do it without you!

🎵 Alexa, play “Better Together” by Luke Combs! 🎵

Betty and Blue had some much needed play time together earlier. This bonded pair of gorgeous pups are the life of the party! They love to play and are learning leash manners VERY quickly. They are a little skeptical of new things, but when one falls short the other is able to pick right up and they are able to bring out the confidence in each other.

They definitely have the energy to play, play, play; but they also enjoy a nice calm cuddle on a rainy day and some ear scratches.

They don’t like going anywhere without each other, but thats part of what makes them so great! They would love to go to a home with lots of toys, treats, and of course with each other.

Stay tuned for updates on Betty and Blue. They will be ready for adoption together soon!

Female is the top pup and the male is the bottom. They are both spayed/neutered.

Keep these plants out of reach or choose pet-friendly alternatives. Be mindful of food: Many holiday foods, such as chocolate, grapes, and onions, are toxic to pets. Keep these foods out of reach and avoid letting your pet beg for scraps. Provide a quiet space: With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it's important to provide your pet with a quiet space to retreat to if they need a break from the festivities. We hope you and your furry friends have a wonderful holiday season!

Pupdate: Mini was rescued! 🐶❤️ Stay tuned… 🥰 This is our littlest member right now, Miss Mini. Those before and after photos tell it ALL! She is so brave for overcoming her fear of the environment and we are so proud of her and look forward to seeing her improve even more until she is 100% ready for adoption! We are still getting to know Mini, but here’s what we know so far… -Peanut butter is her favorite treat -She needs some potty training, but with a little guidance she has already shown us that she can do it all! -She is a cuddle bug! Loves attention! -She needs work with being around other dogs, but we are working with her on over coming that fear too and she is doing good with that -She likes to play, but has no idea what a toy is. In time she will learn just how great toys are! - She does not like cats at all - She has been great meeting new people since she has learned to trust us! - She is a foodie! Loves to eat and can sniff out a treat from across the room! Mini will be fully vaccinated, spayed, dewormed, and microchipped upon her adoption! She is not completely there yet, but don’t let that stop you from putting in an application. Ace is ready to go home! He is kennel that trained! Can sit and lay down! Ace is also a professional cuddle bug! Must love kisses!

Big Boy Roy! Roy is an older boy. Don't let his size fool you because he doesn't know how big he is! He loves belly rubs and will play fetch (for short periods). Roy may have some husky in his ancestory because he is hard headed. He loves people, other dogs (any size), and of course snacks!

Lizzie is waiting for you! She sits and loves to play fetch! And she is ranked #1 for most likely to give you kisses!
