We got another message from Hank's (formerly Gomez) adopter, and it absolutely made our day. After all those months at the shelter, it’s wonderful seeing him continue to settle into his new life.

According to his family, Hank has an “after-dinner happy dance” — and they sent us a video to prove it. He does his little routine every evening, celebrating mealtime like only Hank can. They also shared a photo of him stretched out on the couch, snoozing on his back without a care in the world.

Seeing him so relaxed and joyful is exactly what we hoped for during all those long months he waited. Thank you to everyone who cared about him, asked about him, and helped us share his story. These updates mean so much.

Oh, what fun it was seeing everyone come out for the Mount Gilead Christmas Parade! 🎄✨

A huge thank you to every single volunteer who helped bring our parade entry to life. We’ve received so many kind compliments on the posters and treat bags, and we’re hopeful that the extra visibility helps our shelter dogs connect with local families who may be looking to adopt. 🐶❤️

We still need 5 parade walkers for tonight!

Due to illness and other reasons, we've lost a few walkers for tonight so we have more posters than we do people. If you or anyone you know might be interested, you still have a chance! Please contact us if you are interested.

The parade is in Mount Gilead and starts at 7pm. Walkers are being asked to arrive at 6:15 to carpool to the parade starting point. You can sit in your cars from that point until we need to line up, since we know it will be cold out. Walkers must be 16 and over. We'll send you all the details if you want to help out!

🎄🐾 This Sunday: Our Christmas Drive-Through Donation Drop Off!🐾🎄A day of giving, love, and second chances. This Sunday, our little shelter is so thankful for the most meaningful day of the year!
Every day, we look into the eyes of dogs who are waiting patiently for the love and security of a forever home. And every day, it’s people like you who give them comfort, full bellies, wagging tails, and the hope that better days are coming.
On Sunday, you won’t even need to step out of your car—our joyful holiday elves will be there to gently unload your donations, each one a gift that means the world to a dog who has no one else.
And if you can’t make it on Sunday, donations can be shipped directly to us at 80 N. Walnut Suite A, Mt. Gilead, OH 43338—every single contribution makes a difference.
This isn’t just our biggest donation day of the year…
It’s the day our community comes together to show these dogs that they are seen, valued, and worth every ounce of love we can give.
