Rimadyl is a commonly used NSAID for pain. Unfortunately, Labrador Retrievers are known to be especially sensitive to Rimadyl toxicity, so I avoid it with this breed wherever possible.

Potential Adverse Reactions for ALL NSAIDs ⁠
• Kidney Failure⁠
• Liver Failure⁠
• Seizures⁠
• Gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation. If your animal is on an NSAID, make sure you check their stool! Dark, tarry stools, diarrhea, anorexia, and other GI symptoms can be signs of a serious issue.⁠

✅ ⁠I ALWAYS do lab work before starting an NSAID to make sure liver and kidney function are fine. ⁠
✅ Always ASK for the drug inserts from your veterinarian!⁠
⁠
❌ Do NOT mix NSAIDs with steroids. ⁠
❌ NSAIDs should NOT be given with any other NSAID! This can kill your pet.
❌ I do NOT give antacids (like Famotidine) with NSAIDs (there is a potential reaction where the tissue of the stomach swells)⁠

From the first day the FDA and veterinary cardiologists and nutritionists labeled grain-free BEG diets as causing DCM in dogs, I called 🐮💩. This was just a ploy by the large pet food manufacturers using their influence on FDA to single out smaller companies that are gaining an increase in market share.

💰Unfortunately, their ploy worked, resulting in discontinuation of many wonderful pet foods and huge revenue losses for good companies.

When out and about please be aware and considerate of other owners/dogs, if you see an on lead dog, pop your dog on a lead till they've passed 😊 if your dog has no recall, their are private fields you can hire, long lines etc you can use to help with this while your working on it.

Dogs can be on lead for a multitude of reasons, not just because they dont like other dogs, they could be recovering from surgery (your dog running over could set back recovery!!), they could be elderly or have a health condition, a new rescue dog, a dog in training etc.

You could also be putting your dog at risk, if they run over to a dog that isn't friendly and they get attacked etc even once, this can result in your dog becoming reactive or very fearful and obviously injured.

It takes 2 mins to pop your dog on a lead, till the other dogs passed and this ensures all owners and dogs are safe 😊 ###

Bravecto, Bravecto Plus, Nexgard, Simparica, Simparica Trio, Credelio, Revolution Plus all contain Isoxazoline which is a neurotoxin! ☠️

It is only supposed to be toxic to the parasites however, data is showing the toxicity is NOT limited to parasites and we are seeing many adverse reactions in dogs and cats.

Some adverse reactions that my clients have seen include:
• Aggression
• Personality changes
• Seizures
• Disorientation
• Wobbling or unstable gate
• Sensitivity to touch
• Abnormal vocalizations
• Urinary or f***l incontinence
• Death
I have seen these adverse reactions happen immediately after administration, but I have also worked with cases where the pet parent noticed these reactions days, weeks, or even months later. Sometimes the reactions don’t occur until multiple doses of the medication have been given.
