This is def a first, see 2nd slide! Please welcome Chance the attending ! She will be working on coexisting with their two cats, as well as house manners!

I’m lucky to have numerous repeat clients. Meaning clients get another dog, and want to train their 2nd dog. Or they continue training with their same dog after puppyhood into advanced training.

But, this is my first repeat house! 3rd slide is Bingo from 3 years ago this Monday!

has been so good to me. In fact, Chance is the 2nd from this house that’s gone through ! Two completely different families have rented this house and chose for their needs!

Please welcome Winston to . He will be working on his defensive boundaries to lessen his reactivity towards triggers.

Does this look like a reactive dog?

I didn’t think so, but sometimes we work too quickly too fast out in the environment without understanding what triggers our dogs. Winston simply doesn’t want people in his space because he has been around too many unpredictable people coming up to approach him. He will lunge to create space, and/or bite if pushed too closely to his personal space.

with Calhoun working on our greetings. Since football is a religion in the south, we’re getting ready for gatherings! We’ve now met 3 sets of Calhoun’s favorite human friends, with John & Melinda being his most trivialized. A special thank you to John & Melinda for working with Calhoun because their touch really sets him off. Averting eye contact and ignoring the overstimulated energy is doing wonders to show Calhoun what we’re now asking for when greeting guests. Calhoun successfully completed at least ten laps around the kitchen island before he settled in between guests for pets!

Ideally, we’re looking for:
🐾a patient sit/stay from your dog
🐾no overexcitement/overstimulation
🐾as soon as we receive these new behaviors, guests are allowed to approach
🐾reset back to step 1 if they can’t handle it

Calhoun hasn’t been able to handle approaching others well, yet. His sit is an auto stay, so were utilizing that skill to our advantage, and allowing others to approach him calmly.

Meet Rosie, a 3 year old rescue!

The Galgo is also referred to as the Spanish Greyhound. They are Spanish hunting dogs, are known for their endurance like cross country runners, and aren’t as lean as ! Supposedly thousands are said to be discarded each year for poor performance after hunting season. Within Spanish culture, it is supposed to bring good luck with their future hunts.

Please welcome Dunes to . At 90 lbs, this 2yo has pushed some boundaries too far. He’ll be with us for the next couple weeks working on establishing better boundaries on leash, off leash, around kids/dogs, and throughout the community.

PSA + Welcome Dunes back to . Dunes graduated from Beginners several years ago, but has developed some defensive reactivity to dogs due to crowded/unsupervised doggie daycare settings.

Dunes is not a reactive dog, but this is the unfortunate consequence of doggie daycares when they’re not properly supervised/refereed. Some doggie daycares allow up to 10-20 dogs managed per person. This is the main reason dog trainers advise not to use daycare as proper socialization.

matches temperaments for all dogs, will take no more than 6 pups at a time, and is supervised/refereed 100% by a dog trainer!

Make sure your matches dog temperaments, keeps smaller groups less than 6, and is always supervised/refereed by a professional!

The largest variance in size and weight in between back to back clients is 132 lbs.

Brutus is a 2 year old at a stealthly 140 lb. While, Cutie Pie is a 10 month old at a girthly 8lbs.

I want to thank all my followers, clients not on social media, and my friends/family for their continued support in journey the last 2 years!

300 warriors of support that has allowed me to train 42 dogs, care for 34 more, and be named NextDoor Mt. Pleasant, SC Neighborhood Favorite in 2022!!!

Thank you to all who has helped & , especially around this holiday season! Can’t wait for what year 3 has in store!

Congratulations to Maggi and on their from obedience & reactivity training! Check out the last pic of her wiped out not even 5 minutes after the session.

Maggi came to us only knowing how to utilize her defensive protection capabilities which is so innate for her breed. She would react within a minimum of 250ft while pulling, lunging, and barking excessively towards numerous triggers. , , and their family have worked tirelessly over the course of 2022 to show Maggi the guidance necessary to be able to walk within 15 feet with minimal reaction and gradual engagement back towards the owner/handler.

Their training will continue to be a daily/weekly thing, but at least now their structure and routine is creating a new reliability for Maggi to succeed in a neighborhood/family setting. The bond and Maggi have developed has given him the confidence to enlist Maggi in like , , or . Absolutely love seeing the bond built between my clients and their dogs!

Safe to say reactivity training with Ellie is going great! Eli the sweet, yellow lab couldn’t resist joining in as we were working on peripheral reactivity training dog park.

It’s important to note that Eli is not dog and had never met Ellie before. The greeting went well, so Eli the old, friendly lab joined in for some treats and training after the dog park. Ellie did amazing with no reactions and then worked on more focus with Eli’s help!

Show Ellie & Eli some ❤️! Don’t they make a cute couple!!!
