Our last doe to kid this year had 2 bucklings today. We ended up with 6 bucks and 1 doe! So if you're looking for a nice little buck or wether, we'll have plenty to go around within the next couple of months!

This is Cookie, a sweet little Nigerian Dwarf buck kid. He'll be ready to go in early June.

Although there may be a peri-parturient rise in f***l egg counts, that does not mean a doe needs to be dewormed. Current research says you should only deworm goats that are being negatively affected by their worm load, such as poor FAMACHA score (4 or 5), weight loss, diarrhea, and/or bottle jaw. Why? Because the more you use a dewormer, the faster the worms will become resistant to it. We need to save our dewormers for when they are really needed -- or they won't work when we really need them.

No, your pet goats cannot live in your house. Although my daughter had great luck teaching baby goats to p*e on a towel, they also thought they should p*e on the bathroom rug and any clothes left on the floor. And there is no teaching them to p**p outside. They just let the p**p fly whenever the urge strikes.

Although it is not true that goats eat tin cans, they do like to taste everything just to be sure they arenโ€™t missing out on anything awesome. That means that electrical cords are a real danger to them, as they could electrocute themselves. Some goats have been known to eat plastic bags, balloons, hair ties, and small plastic toys, which can cause an obstruction, which will cause death.
