BIG thanks to all who gave us a helping paw on GIVING TUESDAY - we surpassed our goal! Nova and Sequoia are two of the recipients of your generosity. These lovely leggy ginger girls have been with us 4 years, and would really love a home of their own. (They need to stay together, and be the only pets in the home). Thanks to you, our wonderful donors, they will get lots of Christmas treats....now we just need to find them a furever home!

Our big girls, Nova and Sequoia, have been with us FOUR YEARS now. Half their lives spent in rescue. They are well taken care of in foster of course, but these lovely girls really need a home of their own - how wonderful it would be, for them to finally be 'home for the holidays'. These girls are sweet, a little mischievous (typical mals, lol), really big (tall, not fat) and need to be placed together, but need to be the only pets in the home. FLOWER (formerly known as Sigourney in rescue) has been returned to us through no fault of her own. AND WE ARE STILL HOPING AND PRAYING FOR A FAMILY WITH KIDS FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! She is now about 5 years old and she has grown into a big (104 #) girl with wonderful house manners. She does want to be the "one and only" canine member of your family, but she has more than enough love in her heart to make up for not needing a pack to back her up! Could she fit into your family? If not, could you please share this post so we can get the word out? After years in a home with a family, life in a kennel is difficult for her ☹

Happy Howl-o-ween from Lucy the Flapper, and an update. We thankfully have her IBD under control now, with special food and a LOT of care from her foster Mom, Joni! Unfortunately, Lucy had to be shaved, she came to us matted down to the skin, and despite our best efforts over the last months, her coat just could not be saved ;-( We would never shave a northern dog except as a last effort, as was the case with Lucy. The mats were pulling on her skin and causing pain. Hopefully, going forward, her coat will grow back, and we of course will see that it is properly maintained! She is feeling MUCH better, being rid of the painful mats.
