I am Bear and a tough pup. I am 13 weeks old, up to date on vaccines, and am far along on deworming. I am a malamute/german shepherd mix. Although I am as tough as they get, I love to sit in my mom's lap and be told what a handsome pup I am. So I guess I am sort of an active couch potato. I never skip a wrestling match with my brothers and sisters. My pops said that I was the first one to learn to sit when he asked me to. I do it because he always has a tasty treat to offer.

Hi, my name is Penelope! I am a bit of a diva and love to strike poses while staring at my humans. I am a malamute/german shepherd mix. You might also notice that pink looks quite fashionable on me. I am 13 weeks old, up to date on vaccines, and am far along on deworming. Like my brothers and sisters, I love to run and wrestle, explore the backyard, and cuddle with my pops. I am very food motivated and enjoy eating frozen bananas and boiled egg whites. My mom tells me that the egg white will help make my soft fur even more luxurious.

I am very active and love to run, chase, and wrestle with my brothers and sisters. Usually I am the first one to find a puddle and get a beauty mud bath. I love frozen bananas, ice cubes, and treats. I would love to find a family that is active and will tucker me out daily. My hoooman mom tells me I need to exercise and challenge my brain so I stay out of trouble.

Sweet female senior malamute declining in shelter enironment. Neglected by paneers and then dumped at the shelter because she requires medical help. 💔



NOTES:
7 year old female senior. Spayed. Owner surrender. Previous owners neglected her and then dumped. She’s got medical notes but nothing urgent. Very friendly to everyone and good with people and dogs. Good on leash and loves treats.

Medical Notes: Overweight. Several cysts and sores that need attention. Mass on hip. Nothing life threatening. Dental tartar.

Hi, my name is Jim. I am approximately 130-135 lbs. (The vet would like to see me go a little lower) I was found wandering at 5:30 am by my current owner in his front yard. I came right up to him because I am a very friendly dog who loves people. I have had all my shots and medications and I do have a chip but the person listed could not be reached or did not acknowledge the attempts by the Will County Animal Shelter. I stay indoors mostly now because of the heat which I do not react well to. I do however like to stay out at night when it is cooler and will usually stay out until I am fed my breakfast and then come in for the day. Hopefully when the weather cools I will stay out in the run that was built for me, Currently I am shedding and you can pull tufts out of me and I don't mind being brushed, except toward my back end. I will let you know when it is time to stop brushing by just walking away. When I was found I was a matted mess and it took the groomer over two hours to get me in decent shape. When I am indoors I will let you know when I need to go out to the bathroom. I drink an awful lot of water which hopefully will let up as the weather gets cooler. I like to go on short walks. I sleep a lot during the day when I am in a cool comfortable place. (The vet estimates that I am 8 years old approximately) Besides food, which is my number one driving force I also love any and all attention. I roll on my back and thrash my legs and twist from side to side to get my stomach rubbed. I also will come up behind you and go between your legs and with my size that can be a real shock sometimes. Ideally I need a home where I can go inside and outside on my own and where someone will be around most of the time to pay attention to me.

It is nice to meet you, my name is Zara. I am a one-and-a-half-year-old malamute. I was found running down a street by a very nice lady. She took me to the vet to check if I was chipped, I could have told her that I was not. She checked daily all lost and found dog sites and spread the word about me but no one seemed to miss me. The nice lady and her husband gave me lots of love, treats, got me current on vaccines, and even dared to give me a bath. Best of all, they let me sleep with them.
Unfortunately, I did not like my brothers and sisters; we did not get along one little bit, so I went to a 4 weak training camp. My trainers said I am amazing and now I walk on a leash without pulling, follow commands, and I did master potty training. They slowly tried to introduce me to other dogs of various breeds and sizes but that did not work out as I only want to hang out with my humans.
I have been living and training at the doggy training facility for 2 months now and am ready to go to a new home that will allow me to be the only K-9.
My parents will take me to get spayed. I am up to date on my vaccines and am in great shape and health. I love hanging out with all humans, big and small. I am food motivated and am ready to become part of your family.

The Winter Solstice is tonight, the longest night, when we face the North, raise a cup, and drink a toast to those that we have loved and lost, that wait for us at The Bridge.
