Happy Howl-o-ween from Lucy the Flapper, and an update. We thankfully have her IBD under control now, with special food and a LOT of care from her foster Mom, Joni! Unfortunately, Lucy had to be shaved, she came to us matted down to the skin, and despite our best efforts over the last months, her coat just could not be saved ;-( We would never shave a northern dog except as a last effort, as was the case with Lucy. The mats were pulling on her skin and causing pain. Hopefully, going forward, her coat will grow back, and we of course will see that it is properly maintained! She is feeling MUCH better, being rid of the painful mats.

Malawalk Merch Inventory for Sale for ONE WEEK ONLY! Orders will close on October 14 at 5:00pm CT until next time.

We have some remaining inventory of merch after Malawalk 2024. All merch sales will go right back to the rescue minus shipping costs to the good ol' post office. Stock up on some stocking stuffers and gifts for the upcoming holidays while also supporting a local rescue!

General descriptions are below for sizing and any limited availability we might have. If we sell out of a size, we will do our best to edit this post. There is a post attached with all of the prices. Once you have your order together, please email Paulina at [email protected] with what you would like and your address. We will then figure out payment and shipping. We use the standard rate shipping boxes from USPS with tracking. So, shipping costs will depend on what you're getting. We generally try to go with the smallest/least expensive shipping method; or if it's between two, we will give you the option.

We have great news! Not only did Roger Rabbit catch the ball, but he found his wonderful furever home! It really took a village to rescue Roger all the way from Oklahoma, huge thanks to all who helped him get his happy ending!!

Thank you all for making Malawalk such a success this year! Thanks to your amazing contributions, our rescue was able to raise over $14,000 this year. If you couldn’t make it this year, we definitely hope to see you next year.

IAMRA's Cart Raffle has ended and I recorded the drawing of the winning raffle ticket. The winner of the cart is Mary Beth Kolb! Sanctuary Sweetheart, Dylan, has recently started using a rear-lifting harness to help when his old bones get a little creaky. He wants everyone to know he’s still the best at keep-away though, so don’t be thinking you can have his ball! 😉 A rear harness is a great option for pups who are struggling with hip mobility/stability problems, age-related or otherwise. This one is a basic pet store brand (PetSafe) that clips onto a regular harness. There are other brands that sport both front and rear lift points if your pup needs extra support. The Help Em Up Harness is one we especially love for front/rear lifting. The most important step is to measure properly for a comfortable fit and ensure no sections are rubbing or restricting movement in any way. Your support of our Sanctuary Sweethearts Program allows us to continue committing to dogs like Dylan. Sanctuary pups have been deemed unadoptable for various reasons - typically significant medical needs, advanced age, or both. These pups are no less deserving of a loving home and fulfilled life, and we are so grateful to the supporters who make it possible to give them just that! Hello from party-gal, Moose! We’ve had an adoption pending for her for some time so haven’t posted her much. Unfortunately that fell through and she’s now ready to find her furever home! Do you have a yard that needs aeration? Do you have mud that needs puddled? This busy puppy is your girl! She just turned 1 year old and is working on manners and obedience. She is a very hard worker for snacks and has even learned a few tricks!
