What a way to start the summer riding camp season! The Advanced Beginner group at Simmons Sport Horses did not disappoint with their enthusiasm, creativity, riding skills, and team building skills. Activities included: daily riding lessons; classroom lessons including learning about horse behavior, the meaning behind different colors of tail ribbons, facial markings, leg markings, and unique horse coat colors. Campers researched horse breeds from around the world and created their dream horse. They also designed and created their dream barns. Crafts included horse show picture frames, tie-dye t-shirts, and horse hair clay pots. Campers pitched in with barn chores including cleaning stalls, scrubbing water troughs, and sweeping the barn. We ended the week with a culminating showcase in which horses and riders performed at their best, all while working together as a team for a successful show! We had a terrific week!
