Meet Bentley! This sweet guy was picked up by MHPD on 06/07/24 in the 900 block of Coley Dr. He was found with 2 collars on. Meet Phoebe! She was picked up today 05-30-24 by MHPD in the Pebblecreek area. She has a collar and a leash, but no identification. 5-22-24 Meet Baby she is a female Stafford Shire mix she's 3 years old and 62lbs. She was picked up by Mountain Home PD running around in the new Harps maybe she needed milk we don't know. She didn't have a collar on, but she has been microchipped. But the microchip has not been registered. If you are her owner or if you're interested in adopting her, she will be available on 5-28-24 for adoption. Call the Baxter County Sheriff's Office at 870-425-7000 ask for Animal Control.

Unfortunately, this is not the outcome we all hoped for. Thank you to Lynn for keeping everybody informed for us so we could focus on how to best care for sweet Homey. Dr. Hilvert was nothing short of incredible in her care for him, we are proud to have her as a partner to animal control. I was able to have Homey at my home the last several days of his life and hope people take comfort in knowing we loved him right up until the end. Last but not least, thank you to the village that showed up and sent love and donations so that we could continue to fight for him, it wouldn't have been possible without our amazing community supporting us! --Sara

Meet Roscoe! He was saved from the middle of the highway near 629 Highway 5 North by MHPD early this morning. He was found with a collar but no tags. Meet Zoey! This sweet puppy was found today 05/07/24 at the end of CR15 at the boat dock. She was found with a rope tied into a slip lead still around her neck. Meet (Mountain) Homey! This poor guy was picked up on 05-03-24 in the 300 block of School Street in Gassville. He was severely injured and is now recovering from his first surgery with Dr. Hilvert. A huge thank you to everyone involved in getting this poor boy the help he desperately needed! We will post more updates as we have them.

The homeowner stated that they are both wonderful with children, and submissive to her other dogs. Edit: 5-23-24 Jane is getting out of this place she has been adopted!!!! We are sure going to miss this sweet girl! But we are so happy she found a wonderful new home!!!

Sweet Jane has been here the longest. She was brought into the shelter on 01/25/24 terrified of people and everything around her. She was starving and missing most of her fur due to mites. She is all healed now and is a beautiful, sweet girl. She is about a year old and weighs 40 lbs. She would prefer to be the only pet, but once she is adjusted to her new home she might get along with others if introduced properly. She shows no signs of her rough life before rescue. Update: 05/06/24 Mojo has been adopted and will be going to his new home soon!

Mojo was picked up on 04/21/24, currently no owner has claimed him. He will be available for adoption 04/29/24. The shelter is loud and has been scary for him, so he will need a home with a lot of patience. He will walk on a lead but because he is unsure of his surroundings, he needs to move slowly but he is treat motivated and is very gentle when he takes them. His adoption fee will be $25 and will include his neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Barrett was brought to the shelter on 04/05/24, very scared. However, after a little bit of patience, he is learning to trust humans again.
