If I’m lucky enough, I’ll get 9-13 years out of this guy. For his entire life, he will always have me.
If I’m being honest, I got my first German Shepherd when I was 19. I was living alone and wanted to get something to protect me. My dad was a cop growing up so I was always taught that a German Shepherd is a good protector. On a whim, I got my first one. He was beautiful, black, and big. He lived to be *almost* 12. My second pup turned out to be the son I never had. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 5 due to a degenerative disk disease.
Now I own this guy and his princess gworlie. They are in the works of helping me destigmatize the GSD breed. It’s so much deeper than quick cash. The breed is driven, loyal, protective, family-oriented, loving, soft, and one of the best things that has crossed my path.
If you want a dog that possesses all of these qualities, please get a German Shepherd. They are a lifelong commitment and have the sweetest, funniest souls.
