Sneakers a 5/6 month old Pit who was brought into Muncie Animal Shelter back in July 2013 that our family agreed to foster. They weren't quite sure what happened to his leg, however we think it may have been tied off with cable wire as it was apparent that something had been wrapped around his leg. When It's a Pittie Rescue rescued Sneakers his wound on his leg looked nothing like it did from thei
r pics and they had him for 5 days and had not treated him properly as you can see from the pics. There was a long road to recovery for this pup. For 2 weeks AWCM treated Sneakers to try and save his leg. The leg began to heal with the proper antibiotics and care. However, Sneakers' infection was so bad that after a week of treatment his toes began to fall off and he would have a clubbed foot needing either a prosthetic paw or a full leg amputation. Due to possible complications of prosthesis the rescue and I both decided it was best to amputate. Within 24 hours post operation, Sneakers was a different pup and on his way to recovery. If you can donate to Sneakers' medical bills, any amount would be so grateful at www.rescueapittie.org. Reference "Sneakers Medical Fund" or you can mail a check to It's a Pittie Rescue, PO Box 383, Peotone, IL 60468 in memo portion of check reference "Sneakers Medical Fund". Thank you all for your love and support. We have made this page to help share his story and help raise money for his medical funds. Thank you all for your prayers and generosity. Sneakers now enjoys his life with his new family whom are foster failures.
