It was a pleasure to service Dice today and help his family ❤️ thank you to Silverstray Social for arranging this surgery and transporting him to our clinic!
Today was inspiring to say the least! 🎉 Dice was one of six dogs who call Gary home who received lifesaving surgeries, and his story is a true testament to the meaning of service to community.
Dice’s mom has been a devotee of our drive-through clinics, ensuring he stayed up-to-date on his vaccines, boosters, preventions, and microchip. Dice had been on our neuter waitlist for nearly a year, and today, thanks to a sponsorship through the Estelle Marcus Low Cost Clinic, he finally got the care he needed!
Dice’s mom faces significant challenges, including bouts with her own seizures. Because she cares so much for her beloved Dice and wanted to feel like she was doing everything she could to cover his medical expenses, she told us she started walking the streets and collecting coins and spare change to contribute what she could. We were moved by her dedication but insisted she save what little she had for herself and Dice. She told us Silverstray was like an Angel come down from heaven. Dice is her rock, her therapy, and her greatest companion—their well-being is deeply symbiotic.
Their bond is yet another reminder of the importance of our mission to "keep pet families together", especially in moments of struggle. Seeing Dice and his mom continue their journey together, happier and healthier, fills our hearts with gratitude.
