We at Hailstorm Exotics would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays! With the holidays upon us, we at Hailstorm realize more animal adoptions also follow. Because of this, we would like to help make sure all new owners have information at their fingertips to know how to make sure their new family pet is healthy, happy, and thriving. We believe everyone should have access to care information and resources in one place so we would like to do that for you!

For every species we work with we make in depth care guides including basic care information, multiple setup recommendations (based on quality, size, budget, etc), ideal feeding items and schedule, and links/description of where we resource our supplies.

Within the next few weeks we will be trying to put out care guides for any species we work with, do not hesitate to check our website for updates. If we do not have the species info you are looking for feel free to text, email, or message us and we will get back to you ASAP.

Thank you and stay safe,

Carter

DISCLAIMER: HAILSTORM EXOTICS IS AN EXOTICS RESCUE AND DOES NOT TAKE DOGS OR CATS AS SURRENDERS.

Hey everybody, so Hailstorm Exotics' owners Carter and Connor had a cat show up around their apartment and had decided to do what we can to find his home since he was obviously someone's cat. We took him to the vet for a checkup and we found that he has an infection and his body is struggling to fight it off. They tested him for cat AIDS and kidney and liver problems, both of which came back good but it was found that due to the infection he is severely anemic. He is on an antibiotic to help and goes back to the doctor tomorrow to see if he's able to start a steroid to help or if he is going to need more vetting due to something else being wrong.

I am posting here because we need any help we can get with this. We initially intended to bring him to the vet to get him chipped and his yearly vaccines so that when his owner shows up he is up to date on everything but now with the infection he is still not vaxed and could potentially need more vetting if the infection is not improved by tomorrow. Attached are pictures of Jamie and the receipt from the vet yesterday. If all goes well, Jamie should only need about $100 of vetting but if his infection hasn't calmed at all then we will be playing by ear what the next step is.

If you feel compelled to donate, we have cashapp ($3Rrescue) and venmo (-Blair-Adams). Our goal to raise is $500 or more. Any extra donations will go straight into the rescue for caring for the 9 rats, 1 gerbil, and 1 ball python we have currently.

Thank you for your time and support.

Welcome to Hailstorm Exotics. I'm sure most of you reading this know us as Reptiles, Rodents, and Rejects Rescue. We are officially soft reopening for emergency surrenders only. With our reopening we are taking this chance to rebrand ourselves. If you get a chance, take a look at our new website for more information, including policy updates and an updated accepted species list. We look forward to continuing to serve middle Tennessee!

Unfortunately RRR Rescue will be closed until further notice. We (Carter and Connor) got in a pretty bad car wreck a few days ago, until we are healed up and life normalizes again we are unable to take in any animals. In addition, the majority of the animals we currently have are being sent to our partners. We don't know when we will be reopening, we will post an update when we are able to reopen.

03/22/2021

Calling all rescues, breeders, etc. We are looking for partners to work with. If you work with reptiles and/or rodents in any capacity please reach out. We want to partner with others to travel for pick ups/adoptions for each other, assist each other in finding adopters, and function as fosters for each other where needed. We are looking to network more and hopefully create some mutually beneficial relationships with others.

Rescues, please be clear in what animals you work with and to what extent you'd like to partner.

Breeders, we will need proof that you breed ethically. We would be happy to take in special needs animals and help direct potential adopters to you.

Anyone else that works with reptiles and/or rodents, if you make products for these animals, want to foster, etc please reach out with what you do and what you'd like a partnership to include.

We have a trio of female guinea pigs who are ready for their forever home! Oreo is approximately a year to a year and a half old and is the mother to Snoopy and Willow who are both approximately 6 months old. The piggies do not come with any supplies and they cannot be separated, this is a bonded trio. PM for rehoming fee and more details.

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Do you love animals? Are you able to drive to pick up and drop off rescues and supplies? If you answered yes to both of these questions keep reading for job duties.

As a runner for RRR Rescue you will be expected to drive long distances to pick up animal intakes, take animals to their new owners, and pick up supplies for the rescue. You must:
-Be at least 18 years old
-Have a valid driver's license
-Have regular access to a reliable vehicle
-Consistently be able to set aside a minimum of three hours on at least one day a week

RRR Rescue works with rodents and reptiles. When working with any animal there is always a risk of becoming ill. Always use caution when working with animals. RRR Rescue is not responsible for animal related illnesses.

Meet some of our newest intakes! We also took in a group of female guinea pigs that we have not had a chance to get pictures of yet.

Blade is a spotted python who is part of our special needs program. He is not handlable and we will be working with him in an attempt to rehabilitate his behavior. As of now he will not become available, if his behaviour improves that may change.

Snow, Flurry, and Slate are adult leopard geckos that were just surrendered to us. All have great temperaments and should become available after their quarantines. If you are interested in one of them feel free to message about them!

Hissyfit is a western hognose and is another rehabilitation case. He would go on food strikes before coming to us and is a little extra sassy, he is already showing improvement and may one day be available for rehoming.

01/29/2021

Hey guys, with the new year we are making a few changes to how we run things. Starting February 1, 2021 our animal pickup/drop off days will be Tuesday and Thursday, with limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. The last week of every month will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday with no Saturday/Sunday hours. We will still try to work around everybodies schedules, but this way there is a bit more consistency in scheduling.

We also now have a few forms that must be filled out for our records, there is an intake form for all incoming animals, an adoption application, and a health release. Our adoption application is also an interest list, so if you fill it out to get on the interest list you won't need to fill it out when you go to adopt. The health release is to show that all animals have completed their quarantine and are otherwise healthy unless stated differently. Basically, it ensures that everyone is aware of the health of these animals.

Animals will be going home with a record of ALL of the information we have on that animal. Some information from intake forms will be shared with adopters, health and diet information of the animal, and any notes we have on them. For reptiles this will also include for your records whether or not the animal has completed any mite treatment (preventative or because mites were actually found).

We have a hatchling grey rat snake who is ready for rehoming. He has not been probed but we are thinking he is a male. He has been eating f/t pinky mice every 5 days and has not missed a meal. He will be sent home with his shed from while he has been here as well as any info we have on him. If you are interested please PM for more info and to discuss rehoming fee.

Hey y'all, due to space requirements we are temporarily going to be taking in mostly reptiles. We don't know exactly how long this will last for, but we are still taking in rodents (even guinea pigs), just a lot more limited amount. Guinea pigs will be one pair/group at a time, all other rodents will be assessed case by case to determine if we have room. Thank you for understanding, we hope we can go back to taking in more rodents at a time soon.

We have decided to keep our singular male gerbil! With that said, WE HAVE REHOMED EVERY ANIMAL WE HAVE TAKEN IN! Our younger piggies are on hold and will be grabbed Tuesday, so as of Tuesday we will have a fully open facility! Right now money is tight so we may have a short time of having no animals, but in about a week we will be on the lookout for more rescues. Let us know if you have any info on an animal in need and we will do what we can to help

**unavailable**

We have gotten down to ONE dwarf hamster left! We also have taken in some guinea pigs but so far we have homes lined up for them. We are so thankful for where we have come and we couldn't do it without the support from our community and the surrounding areas.

With all of this said, our last hamster we are going to rehome as a Christmas special. Our main priority is to make sure this beautiful young lady makes it to a good home, so we are wanting to work with our potential adopters and help where we can. REHOMING FEE IS NOW WHATEVER YOU CAN PAY! This lady is really sweet and she can come with a full setup or just on her own (with approved setup), so name a price! We know Christmas can get expensive and we would like to work with you. The worst we can say is no!

Her setup includes:
500sq ft bin enclosure
Water bottle
2 hides
Toys and chews
Food bowl
1 week of food and treats (or for $10 extra we can give a whole bag)
Bedding
5.5in wheel

If you adopt just her she will come in a travel container if you can not provide one as well as her bedding and a weeks worth of food.

Hey y'all, we've had a lot of recent adoptions so I just wanted to make a post showing who all is still available. All rehome fees are negotiable, message us if interested in an animal or for more information.

1: Hermione, dwarf hamster

We've had a lot of interest in this little girl lately, but no one has for sure grabbed her yet. Her rehome fee includes a full bin setup for $50, or you can get just her (with proof of suitable enclosure) for $15.

2, 3, and 4: Jasper, Edward, and Jacob, gerbils **ADOPTED**

We would prefer to keep these brothers together, but are willing to separate them to good homes. The two black boys must stay together if separated. Fee for just one is $15, two for $20, and all three for $22.

Hey, we have 2 guinea pigs up for rehoming. They are both males named Elvis (dark brown face) and Elliot (white face). Eliot is very social and curious, Elvis is a little shy but still sweet. We would prefer to rehome them together, but if not Elvis MUST go to a home with other guinea pigs. $20 for 1 or $25 for both. You must be able to provide pictures of their new home before rehoming. Ron is the third of our hammies that we are rehoming, full enclosure included. He is a little escape artist so lid must stay on. He gets 2 hides, a wheel (grabbing wheel today for him), tubing, water bottle, food dish, bedding, toys, a week worth of food, and bin all included. $50 for everything. If you would like us to hold him so we can work on handling, we are also willing to do that. He is a little skiddish but quickly warming up.

We have 5 new babies in need of homes.

**Adopted** Alice and Bella are a bonded female pair. Their rehoming fee is $20 or $30 with bin and bedding included.

Edward, Jasper, and Jacob are three young brothers (approx. 3 months). We would prefer to rehome them together, but they CAN be separated if needed. You can adopt 1 for $15, 2 for $20 or all 3 for $22. If you would like to adopt with bin and bedding included, message us and we will negotiate a price.

IF YOU DO NOT BUY A BIN FROM US WE MUST SEE YOUR SETUP BEFORE PICK UP OR WE WILL NOT ADOPT OUT TO YOU. WE WILL NOT REHOME ANY ANIMAL WITHOUT KNOWING THEY WILL HAVE ALL THEIR NEEDS MET.

**URGENT**

WE HAVE A GROUP OF SIX GERBILS WHO NEED TO BE FOSTERED FOR NEW HOMES AND WOULD LOVE SOME HELP IN GETTING SUPPLIES FOR THEM TOMORROW

We had calculated out the price of everything and it will be about $140 for rehoming and all supplies. Anything helps. We also could always use extra storage bins 20 gal or larger to help with homing an abundance of different animals. Below you will see the list of things needed for bins with prices.

4 hides- $25
3 water bottles- $7
3 wheels/saucers- $45
Toys- $3
Rehoming- $60

**$40 rehoming fee w/bin enclosure included**

Hello, my name is Lily! I am a slightly shy, adorable 1 year old hamster that loves to burrow and am okay with handling in short increments. I do sometimes nibble but never enough to hurt you. My foster parents like to call me Boxer because I like to hold up my paws like a boxer. I would love any level of experience owner and I come with all supplies necessary for rehoming including:

-500 square inch bin enclosure with lid
-Water bottle
-food bowl
-wheel
-tubes
-toys
-2 hides
-week worth of food
-weeks worth of food and treats for an extra charge

$40 rehoming fee with all things included.

**$40 rehoming fee w/bin enclosure setup included**

Hi, I'm Hermione, I am a female hamster (we think I may be a dwarf but aren't sure) that was just rescued from a shelter. The shelter wasn't able to give me a good living situation, so Connor and Carter adopted me and are looking to help rehome me. I am approximately a year old and super energetic and curious. I am great with handling, but still unsure of being pet. I would be a great animal for an owner with any experience level. I will be done with my quarantine and ready to go home on November 6th with my full bin enclosure setup included. I must be housed alone!! I am extremely hamster aggressive so must stay by myself.

If you think you would be a good owner for me (or know someone that would) you can reach out for more information. My rehoming fee is $40 (negotiable) and for an additional $10 I can come with a whole bag of food for me.
I come with:
~522 sq in bin w/lid
~2 hides (black hide will be replaced)
~water bottle
~food bowl
~5 in wheel
~toys
~bedding
~tubes
~1 week worth of food and treats

Approximately $105 value for everything. Hamster MUST be rehomed with enclosure unless you can prove the animal will be put in an enclosure with a minimum of 500 sq inches of floor space. Hermione is one of a few hamsters that we just rescued, all of them will be available after their quarantine.

Meet the owners and all the animals in our personal collection.

My name is Carter and I am the cofounder of the rescue with Connor. It started out with an interest in gerbils and a general love for animals. I love to help others and to work hard for what I do and there's no better way to do that than to work hard at something I love. I'm also the reason we are a reptile rescue. I have more of an expertise in snakes and other smaller reptiles due to loads of research and growing up with slightly more exotic pets myself. In my free time I like to watch Snake Discovery videos and to spend time with family. I'm more laid back and observant with a tendency to listen more then speak.

Connor is the logistics of the operation. They are best with set up, scheduling, and communication. If you are needing more information on the rescue itself, Connor is your guy. The other cofounder of the company, Connor is great with the rodents the most. He will be head of the hospice care area and take care of not only rehoming animals but also make sure all animals are comfortable to the best of our abilities. Outside of the rescue Connor loves taekwondo and cartoons as well as video games. He's a great conversationalist with a bubbly personality around those he is comfortable with.

Ghost, aka The Girl(TM) is our newest addition to the family. She is a 5 month old Super Mojave ball python and will be our other ball python's girlfriend down the road. (White and brown snake)

Miles, aka Chungus is a shy baby and not a huge fan of hands, but loves to interact through his ball when we get him out. (Long haired brown Syrian hamster)

Ryland is our very first child and a personality of his own. He loves to be greeted when we come home and he will love on us by putting his front paws in our hands. It's a sign of trust for him because he hates to be picked up. He is also super OCD about his enclosure.
(White and brown gerbil)

Ryland's adopted brother is here and as you can see he is kind of spazzy. This spazzy yet lovable furball is Daniel/Danny. He loves to be held and will even sit in Connor's pocket just vibing at times. (Brown gerbil)

Old lady is our eldest child at a whopping 6 months old. She was a spur of the moment rescue from Animal City in Murfreesboro. Her real name is Mary Jane (MJ of course) but we just call her Old Lady. Shes super fluffy and okay with handling for the most part but she will def let you know when she wants down by lightly bitting your finger, and if you dont let her down she will hold on tight and dangle from you until you do.

Spicy Noodle, aka The Boi(TM) is my boy the most. He is a three month old Banana Cinnamon ball python. He is a little bit of a scaredy cat but for the most part super cool and a huge Daddy's Boy.

The Girls Samantha and Eleanor. They are African Spiny mice. Don't ask me which one is which, your guess is as good as mine. Though Connor can sometimes tell.

10/31/2020

Welcome, we are a new specialized animal rescue in Shelbyville, TN. My name is Connor and my partner Carter and I run this rescue. We started RRR Rescue because we noticed that many small rodents and snakes are sold as "easy" or cheap pets and end up being surrendered. Our local shelters are not properly equipped to house these animals, so we decided to step in and help them. Currently we have the space and setup to take in the following animals: mice, gerbils, hamsters, juvenile ball pythons, hognose snakes, sub adult and adult garter snakes, milksnakes, king snakes, rat and cornsnakes, and in extreme need bullsnakes. When in doubt you can always ask if we have the ability to take in a specific animal.

We do all of this using our own money, so to help compensate we do charge a rehoming/adoption fee. This fee will always be calculated based on the amount of money that has been spent on the specific animal, and all fees are always negotiable. For rodents, this fee will never exceed $80*, and for snakes this fee will never exceed $120**.

*The high end of this price cap is for animals that come home with full bin enclosures.
**In extreme circumstances fees may run higher, in these cases we will work with potential owners to help them be able to get the animal they want.
