Animal City is Murfreesboro’s longest-running destination for pets and quality pet supplies. We are unable to accept animals with injuries or illness.

Established in 1990 by Evelyn and her husband, David, Animal City has grown from a humble 900 square foot space and blossomed into an expansive 8,000 square foot haven for pets and owners alike. At Animal City, we take great pride in the selection and care of our pets. We are voluntarily licensed by the USDA and ensure our standards meet and exceed the Animal Welfare Act. Puppies:
Our puppies are carefully chosen from local breeders with impeccable reputations, ensuring they come from loving, clean homes with the highest standards of care. We believe in supporting responsible breeding practices to promote the health and well-being of each furry friend that comes into our store. We also support several local rescue organizations by assisting with rehoming and fundraising. All of our puppies are up-to-date on vaccinations and receive age-appropriate preventative medical care. Cats/Kittens:
The majority of our kittens are rescues, and we are committed to giving these cute and lovable creatures a second chance at a happy life. On average, we rehome over 800 rescue kittens per year, and we take great joy in facilitating their journey to a loving forever-home. All of our kittens are up-to-date on vaccinations and receive age-appropriate preventative medical care. Other Livestock:
In addition to puppies and kittens, we also offer an expansive selection of birds, small animals, reptiles, and fish. We take pride in supporting our local breeders, once again ensuring their animals are raised with the highest standards of care. In addition, we support our local rescue community and rehome as many pets as space and resources allow. Animal Surrender:
We are proud to rehome as many healthy pets, from kittens to fish, as our space and resources allow. For inquiries, please email us at [email protected] (no phone calls, please). Due to a high-volume of requests, we are only able to respond to a select number of emails. If you have not received a response within 48 hours, we are unable to accommodate your request. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, please call your veterinarian.

Pinkie was born in 2019 and is likely a purebred Persian. Despite her grumpy expression, she is a delight! June was also born in 2019 and is most likely a Bengal/Bengal mix.

Here’s a little Monday Meditation to start your week! This is Shelby, our ~37 year old Sulcata Tortoise, eating some Sunday brunch! Do you know Shelby’s story? She was found wandering the streets of Lavergne and picked up by PAWS several years ago. They asked if we could care for her and we jumped at the chance! Shelby has an indoor/outdoor enclosure (with heated floors, too!). She’s thriving and has gained roughly 30 pounds since we adopted her. If she’s not in her enclosure, you can find her wandering around the store looking for new friends!
