We sure have grown very attached to Pugsly over the last couple weeks. Check out his story in the repost below. This is our why.

We are often tagged regarding medical cases, and Pugsly‘s situation was extremely urgent. His caregiver posted that he was extremely lethargic and she brought him inside. She reached out for help because she did not know where to turn with little to no resources to intervene.

We immediately contacted Angel Paws Veterinary Services who took him as an urgent drop off and what we found was shocking. This boy had an extreme amount of necrotic tissue in his abdomen and required immediate surgery because he was in a critical state. Thank you to the amazing team at Angel Paws; they jumped into action! Dr. Wilson did his surgery, put in multiple drains, and they agreed to take care of him over the next few weeks because it was likely that he could need another surgery or become septic.

Over the next few weeks, what we all discovered was that this boy was so sweet even though he had endured so much (possibly even abuse) 💔 He had a fractured jaw and a corneal abrasion in addition to the major damage to his abdomen. But Pugsly was a fighter! He charmed his way into all of our hearts and his original caregivers agreed to give him a permanent indoor home!

Whiskers sponsored his care and we are so happy to report he was able to go to his home on Wednesday 💗 His humans love him dearly and are so grateful for the lifesaving work of Angel Paws & Whiskers!

Pugsly is the bestest boy! We absolutely adore him. He is an incredible biscuit maker and snuggler. We are so grateful for the support of Whiskers and his caregivers for getting him the help he needed. 💜🐾💜

We also had another adoption this last week! Sweet Filly was adopted through another rescue partner Kitty CrusAIDe at the Murray PetSmart Adoption Center.

Huge shout out to our staff and rescue partners at Kitty CrusAIDe for making this possible for Filly. She’s such a fantastic kitty. Congratulations Filly on finding your furever home!

We are so excited to announce that our wonderful girl cat Sarah was adopted through Fawn's Family Rescue this week! She was adopted with a fellow lounge mate, River! We are absolutely delighted that she has found her furever home. Thank you to the tireless efforts of our staff, volunteers and our rescue partner for making this happen for Sarah.

No more litters of kittens, no longer living on the streets and no longer wary of humans. Congratulations Sarah! 💜😻💜

Update on our summer hours - as most of our rescue and shelter partners know, we are working with a modified schedule. Our summer veterinary roster has been limited. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we work to accommodate our patients.

As a reminder, we do not check messenger messages regularly. If you need to schedule something or have any questions please reach out to us [email protected] or call/text 385-400-4740 We will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Our voicemail will be updated every Sunday to reflect the hours we will be available for the coming week. That is the quickest way to find out when we will have a doctor on site.

🐾✨ Yesterday at Angel Paws Veterinary Services was nothing short of incredible! 🎉 Our team had the honor of hosting guest veterinarians Dr. Clyde Daines, Dr. Ryan Schreyer, and Dr. Enel Halilovic, who brought their expertise from Salt Lake Spay and Neuter and VCA Cottonwood Animal Hospital. Witnessing three skilled surgeons collaborating was truly inspiring! 🤝

But it wasn’t just about the vets—our fantastic team of volunteers and staff, including Sidney, Temma, Xavi, Sherri, Johanna, Briana, Paige, Kim, and Richelle, worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of our furry patients. 🙌

Together, we performed thirty-one surgeries, handled five critical cases, and provided lab work and follow-up care for various animal welfare organizations, including West Jordan Animal Services South Salt Lake Animal Services Herriman City Animal Services Mountain Mama Pyrs and Pups Celestial Zoo Pet Rescue CAWS - Community Animal Welfare Society Friends of Community-Cats Rescue

We take immense pride in fostering a culture of professional mentorship within our local veterinary community while delivering top-notch, compassionate care to pets in shelters and rescues. 🌟

Yesterday was a whirlwind of fun! We had guest veterinarians, Dr. Ashley Ham, of VCA Cottonwood and Dr.
Vockler, who owns her own mobile practice Davis Mobile Veterinary Services

Yesterday’s total:

Dr. Ham:
8 🐕 spays
3 🐕 neuters
1 🐕 laceration repair
1 🐕 toe amputation and biopsy

Dr. Vockler:
Examined 4 patients scheduled appts
Treated 3 critical inpatients
2 🐕 dentals with multiple extractions

Thank you so much to Dr. Ham & Dr. Vockler for coming out to support Angel Paws and the homeless pets in the community get the medical care they so desperately need. 🐾💜🐾

Our volunteers came through yesterday in a huge way. Heather, Sherrie, Johanna, Geana and Sarah helped us recover patients from their surgeries, clean, laundry, office work, and brought us food! Time and time again you all show up for these animals. We cannot thank you enough for all your help and support.

Cross posting for South Salt Lake Animal Services

Klaus is a young male German Shepherd, who found himself on the euthanasia list for a local shelter. Thankfully, he was saved at the last second and South Salt Lake was able to open up our doors to this handsome guy.

While we’re so happy we can be a safe place for Klaus, it breaks our hearts that he went from a kennel in one shelter to a kennel at our shelter. We’d love to find him a forever home so he can get out of the shelter once and for all.

Klaus was given a second chance at life and now he just needs a second chance with a family. Could someone open up their home for sweet Klaus so he can finally leave kennel life behind? We’re at 2274 S 600 W, South Salt Lake and are open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm. ♥️

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our very first Tattoos for Rescues fundraiser event hosted by the incredibly talented artists . .tattoo They worked long into the night to get all the tattoos done. Additionally, they are honoring all who stood in line who were waiting listed to be scheduled for a later date TBD.

Huge shout out to Dr. Carney, Dr. Daines, Briana, Rachel, Dani, Sherrie, Paige and Johanna for making the day an overwhelming success. Because of their hard work and dedication we were able to get 30 surgeries, 1 dental cleaning and several exams done on Monday.

Thank you Bella Furever Friends Feline Rescue Utah Friends of Basset Hounds CAWS - Community Animal Welfare Society Animal Care of Davis County for helping these babies get the care they need and prevent unnecessary suffering.

With the warmer weather comes kittens! We know it’s tempting to help these little things as soon as you see them, but it’s important to make sure mom gets help too.

If you find kittens, refer to this chart on what the best course of action is. Many times kittens will need a foster family to allow us to keep kennels open for other cats in need, protect kittens from common diseases, and allow them to grow more before they can be spayed/neutered. We appreciate your patience as we look for a loving temporary home.

We have been generously gifted two tickets to the George Strait, Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town Concert happening at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, June 29th. The donor is unable to attend the concert themselves and would like us to auction them off. We had a very busy surgery day with special guests veterinarians, Dr. Hire and Dr. Parkanzky of Vetscursions . Our team rose to the challenge!

In addition to surgeries, the doctors also examined, x-rayed and ran labs on several inpatient care pets for local shelters and rescues.

You guys 🥹 our Sarah came into Angel Paws Veterinary Services as a pregnant feral for TNR last year. Sometimes you have this feeling, ya know? Like you’re compelled to do something different. Richelle agreed to keep her as she was lactating and we could put a small litter of newborns with her as her kittens were stillborn. Sarah rejected the kittens and held a grudge. It took Veterinary Technician, Sarah working with her for quite some time to allow her to be petted. She refused to leave her kitty condo in cat room. Briana took a chance and Areah gave Sarah a spot at the lounge. The rest is history. Shes blossomed into a beautiful girl cat who is ready for her furever home!

Sarah! For being the best at comforting new lounge cats that come in when they are scared. She is also great at giving love nibbles and belly rubs! Sarah was scared herself when she got here and is now not afraid to say hello to new people when they come in. Sarah is doing amazing as a lounge kitty while she waits for her forever home!
