🐾 April is Animal Cruelty Awareness Month 🐾
We’d like to shine a light on puppy mills and large scale breeding operations. These facilities prioritize profit over the well-being of dogs, subjecting them to neglect, abuse, poor breeding practices, passing on painful medical conditions, and a lack of socialization.
But there’s hope! By choosing to adopt a puppy mill survivor, you can give a deserving dog a second chance at life filled with love and happiness. 🐶❤️
These pups need extra support and patience as they heal from their past traumas, as well as a fenced in yard and typically require another dog.
So, if adopting a mill survivor isn’t for you, how else can you help?
1. Adopt: Adopting a dog that suites your lifestyle from rescues that help mill survivors still supports the cause!
2. Shop responsibly: If rescues aren’t a good fit for your home, make sure you are choosing a responsible breeder. Ensure that you can meet the puppies parents and see their medical records.
3. Spread the Word: Share this post to raise awareness about the realities of puppy mills.
4. Donate: Mill dogs tend to arrive at rescue with expensive medical needs that we take care of before they’re available for adoption. Every dollar helps us take in more dogs in need.❤️
