Lesson time! How to tell a scammer “breeder “ on FB or other social media: (***different red flags than irresponsible actual breeders)
1. Very few comments on their posts since the scammers are excellent at deleting comments they don’t want such as people warning others. I just saw a scammer site with 11,000 followers and very few comments. Makes no sense.
2. No website listed or a website that is not very transparent.
3. No reviews or fake reviews (hard to tell that though although many show a struggle with the English language.
4. No full names of the “breeder” to research
5. No physical address
6. If you call, they won’t offer a live Facetime or Zoom or visit
7. A sense of urgency to put a deposit down NOW. Good breeders puppies do go quickly , so no need to pressure anyone right?
8. Some like to draw you in by callling themselves Christian or family focused so people believe them and put their guards down
9. Asking for money immediately to pay vet bills or a transporter (buyers should arrange their own transportation)
10. Always an excuse to not arrange a live Facetime or Zoom.
11. Fake photos - hint- save the photo and drop it into Google images to search for replications 🙂 Doesn’t always work but sometimes
12. Gorgeous full bred puppies for “adoption” (free or very inexpensive)
