Fionna ran her first scentwork trial and left with 2 ribbons and Q! So excited to see this pup thrive doing something she loves! If you are looking to get your dog involved in some type of sport, please let me know! Sports are a great way to keep your dogs exercise and enrichment new and exciting (and they get pretty ribbons)!

Lucy has proven that old dogs CAN learn new tricks! Lucy is 10 years old and was adopted by an amazing client whose heart she stole during a foster for the holidays event by a local shelter. Lucy had escaped her previous homes numerous times and her new owner said he never wanted to lose her so he reached out to work on making sure she didn’t run out the door, knew where her home was, and walked on the leash without barking. Today was her final day of training and she has done so amazing! The bond between her owner and her is so strong that she never leaves his side. Lucy has found her forever home and I don’t think she’ll be escaping any time soon! 😍❤️🥹

I often get asked how my dogs and cats get along so well. I am clearly a dog person, but my husband is a cat dad so we compromised and we have 3 cats and 2 dogs (still working on him to let me get that 3rd dog LOL). Our cats are 8y, 5y, and 4y and to be very clear...they have ALL been around dogs since they were kittens. Each cat handles their interactions with the dogs differently and the dogs not only respect that, but they obey the laws of the cats. Jax (our oldest and most sickly cat) does not care for the dogs at all. However, when he is around them he simply avoids them and the dogs have learned through trial and error that he is not to be messed with. He will growl/hiss if they get in his space and this is ok, he is setting boundaries and the dogs will listen. Joey is our second oldest and he is a strange one. He LOVES to rub up against the dogs, cuddle with them, and groom them but only on his terms. As you can see in the pictures below, Joe was feeling Finn, but Finn stood like a statue and that is because Finn knows Joe is not amused by playing or any type of affection on his end, but simply wants a warm body to snuggle up to. Lastly, we have Jay. Jay is our wild cat. He is young and crazy and he often times will mess with the dogs to entice them to play. Often times we will find his head in Fionna's mouth or Finn pouncing on him as he darts from one end of the room to the other, he's playful but he knows his boundaries and will let the dogs know it if they play too rough.

How did we get to this point? The first thing is slow introductions. Each dog was introduced slowly to the cats and on the cats' terms. Secondly, we have lots of high places for the cats to get away from the dogs. Cat treats, tables, high furniture are imperative for cats as it is a comfortable spot for them to go where the dogs cannot reach them,. Lastly, we introduced the dogs as puppies. I'm not saying that you cannot get an older dog and cat to live together, but introducing puppies to full grown adult cats seemed to be a bit easier as the cats could sort of show the dogs what they liked and didn't like and the dogs learned quickly. This isn't to say their relationships are all perfect, but I'd say we have a chaotic peace in our household and there are never any fights between the cats and dogs.

What a beautiful baby❤️

Our sweet Maggie has returned to us. Some will automatically feel something must be “wrong” with her to be sent back. In this case, another of the adopters’ dogs was nervous and not eating since Mags arrived. The couple said Maggie was great and did nothing “wrong”. We are sad for our girl that this connection didn’t work out but we are grateful for her awesome foster mom who welcomed Maggie back to her crew. We will continue to search for the right family; they are out there 💕🙏🏻🥰
