We would love to introduce Samson, a handsome fellow with a gentle side. We engaged with him as his family was unable to give him the care he needed. He required some treatment from our local vet and is ongoing in some medication to treat his skin condition. He is definitely progressing well and is awaiting his neuter appointment. He has had a very caring temporary foster family but, we need to share the love. They have been so gracious to care for him but need to make adjustments, nothing to do with him. He is a fun, loving boy, with all focus to please! We are seeking a foster, then after neuter appointment a forever home. Above The Bend Animal Assistance would like to extend a request for a little helping paws for our foster Samson. We have been working hard to help him get his skin condition under control and all heald up so he can be healthy enough for his big neuter day and find his forever home. We have been paying out of personal funds up until his last appointment, and are now needing a little help. The bills that already have been paid and one unpaid. There will be more follow-up appointments and possibly more medications. We have now finaly gotten a PayPal account set up, it will not be a verified nonprofit at this time, baby steps...
Also, Summitview Cowiche Vet has been gracious enough to allow donations to be made directly to the clinic under Above The Bend Animal Assistance to "Samson". We will welcome any help and express much gratitude for the help in getting this gentle giant the help he deserves.
As a side note we will keep updating his progress and let folks know if his bill is paid and there is more than his open bills we will only let it stay as a credit and cap upto the amount we applied. If there is, it will be available to help another in need, as we all know there's always another in need on our path! We have been in contact with the second finder of the dog. He was claimed by Rhonda Patrick for a second time, and we were also told by the persons who found him he has been seen at Rhonda's residence for quite some time. Above The Bend Animal Assistance is now going to bough out at this point, we have tried to assist the first time dog was found, and when it was claimed by first finder and possible owner, we contacted Rhonda offering her a copy of vet record from him being checked for microchip and vets evaluation of abscessed teeth and heart murmur. She stated, "He is home, he is fine." We also offered to get her information on getting health issues addressed and possibly neutered. We have not gotten any response. This dog has not been in our possession at any time. We were contacted as a second party by finders to help. By the time we were going to get dog he was claimed. We feel terrible for the little guy and hope the best for him, we will still assist if they reach out to us or he is lost again. We feel that in the matter of stolen dog situation, it is best addressed with law enforcement and would encourage his health to be addressed and microchiped to help prevent the issue of lost pets. 🚨 𝐃𝐎𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐒 🚨

Our dog kennels are completely FULL and we urgently need to make space for incoming animals. As one of the only open-admission shelters in the state, our doors must remain open for sick pets, injured pets, and victims of abuse or neglect, but we’re stretched to our limit.

With over 120 dogs in our care and only 89 kennels, we are no longer able to provide the standard of care for housing and are urgently seeking your help to reduce our dog population in the shelter.

This has left us desperate to find loving homes and fosters for the animals in our care in order to accommodate those who still need our help.

Here are five ways you can help with this extreme overcrowding:

We wanted to give Elkridge Campground a shout out! Thank you to owner Monica , Caretakers Joepsph, Tori, and kids we love that the cats are a part of the grounds with an important part to play, and the wounderful winter shelters that were built. We are taking the last known juvenile cat on property in to be altered/TNR at PHP Monday. Great job everyone🐾❤️

Good news Chewy, and Lil Groot are going to be doing better. Both had nails removed from pads by vet and both are on antibiotics until alter date. They are at temporary foster and will be coming back to us soon! Can't wait to see these Lil smoochy faced again🥰
