Today marked the official first & last off-leash obedience course at Clawson's K9s. This class was a hand-picked pilot and made up of previous students that wanted to begin building off-leash skills, something I had planned to offer in the future.

Little did I know, this would be a class that ended a chapter with some of my favorites. I'm very grateful for all 3 of these families and their pups, & this class truly did amazing! All of their off-leash recalls have come along nicely & all have left with more confidence and ability to continue learning.

Thank you to the families and pups of Butter, Marley, & Mimi. Both owners & pups are truly awesome teams, and it was an honor to close on a high note.

Tonight marked the final Basic Obedience group graduation at Clawson’s K9s with Class LLC.

It’s hard to put into words what this chapter has meant to me. Watching dogs and owners come together over the years—building trust, finding confidence, and learning side by side—has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

To every handler who showed up, did the work, and gave their dog a chance at something better… thank you.

This last class was full of heart, laughs, a few stubborn moments, and a whole lot of growth—just the way it should be.

While this may be the end of group classes, the lessons (and memories) live on! 🐾

Week 4 of 5 of my final basic obedience group class went great tonight. These guys made me really proud tonight and will be ready for graduation next week!

We had some special guests in my old girl Sweetie & Julie's best bud Peanut.

Just wanted to share the story that fueled my passion to start this business & to hopefully encourage people to not believe everything the internet tells them about dog training.

Unfortunately we live in a world that does more talking online than actually doing, & in the end the people bashing training tools are responsible for dogs not being able to thrive or even survive in our society. Thank you all for all of the kind words, I hope you continue to follow my journey.

A Heartfelt Goodbye from Clawson’s K9s
(But Never Really Farewell)

Nearly 7 years ago, my journey officially began — sparked by volunteering at the SPCA of Luzerne County & Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, and later taking my first true steps into professional dog training with Mannered Mutts Dog Training. What started as a passion to help the underdogs, the forgotten, and the misunderstood grew into something far greater than I could have ever imagined. Together, we’ve saved lives, built unbreakable bonds, and created countless success stories I will forever hold close to my heart.

It’s with a heavy heart that I share that Clawson’s K9s will be officially closing its doors for in-person dog training services. After re-injuring my back recently — compounded by two major back surgeries over the past few years — I know it’s time to listen to my body. I believe it’s best to end this chapter before running myself down once again. The well-being of your dogs, and my ability to serve at the highest level, has always been my top priority, and I refuse to compromise on that.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every client, supporter, and four-legged friend who trusted me. Your belief in me turned a dream into reality, and your support changed not only my life, but the lives of so many incredible dogs.

While I will no longer be offering in-person training after fulfilling my current commitments, please know I am still here for advice, virtual consults, or just to stay connected. Once family, always family. This page will also remain open for educational purposes.

As I turn the page & announce my new chapter: working full-time as a Realtor with Dream Homes Real Estate. Just as I took immense pride in helping dogs and owners find their way, I now bring that same passion, dedication, and heart to helping people achieve their real estate goals.

This isn’t a goodbye — it’s simply a new path forward. Thank you for being part of my journey.

Structured Play: What It Is & Why It Matters.

Structured play isn’t just a way to burn energy—it’s one of the most powerful tools we have to build engagement, deepen your bond, and reinforce impulse control in real time. Whether you’re working through reactivity, frustration, or just trying to create a better handler/dog connection, this kind of intentional play is key.

You’ll see an example video that breaks it down, but here’s the big picture: play with purpose creates clarity, trust, & builds impulse control.

And once the play is done? Decompression in their safe space (crate) matters just as much.

After play time, we don’t just go straight into wild, overstimulating freedom. Post-play enrichment and decompression helps your dog transition in a healthy way—mentally and physically. I always give my dogs a nice filled Kong to relax with in their crate after a good structured play session. Stay tuned for more tips!

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took us up on our free evaluations throughout the month of March! We’re incredibly grateful to be back in the groove of training again, and even more thankful for the trust and support you’ve shown. I currently have 3 group classes full and running & will be posting more dates in near future!

For April, facility evaluations going forward will be $50, and must be paid prior to being added to the calendar.

Please note: This pricing applies to dogs without severe behavioral issues or bite history. If your dog has shown more serious behavior concerns, we’re still happy to help – a custom quote will be provided based on the situation.

First group class back in almost 8 months — and wow, what a return!
So grateful to be doing what I love again, and even more grateful for the incredible pups and owners who showed up ready to work. Every single dog made progress, and the dedication from each handler was top-tier. This is what it’s all about.
