This cozy doe likes to nap under the table in the kitchen. The hop n' flops are sometimes a popular bun-prop, although it took mine awhile to figure them out. It's very satisfying to observe a comfy bun. What makes your buns comfy when they snooze?

We are excited to be participating in the Bunny Bonaza tomorrow for the Rescue Shelter Club at the U of I College of Veterinary Medicine! Such a great way to educate and engage veterinary students! Thank you Toni Kim for including us!

The bun'll come out tomorrow. Betcha bottom dollar that tomorrow... there'll be BUN. Just thinking about tomorrow, clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow, 'til there's none.

Another one from the library... I was hoping it would offer more insight into breed personalities, though, individual buns certainly have unique personalities (bunnalities). It was interesting to learn about how different rabbit breeds evolved and where they came from. I'm no closer to unraveling the mystery of "Naughty Dutchies," however. My Dutchies were pretty well-behaved. Anyone else have naughty ones?

It's been kind of a stressful week around here. One of my buns had surgery to remove a large fatty tumor and I've been anxious about the procedure. He was not, of course, because it was a total surprise to him. I'm sure he's still wondering what happened to his "friend" (that's what our vet has been calling his growth). I had a plan to avoid the dreaded cone of shame/Elizabethan collar and purchased a few preemie-sized onesies to stick him in if it looked like he was going to mess with his incision. I tried one on him prior to surgery day... Wow, was he mad. It *just* fit, but made him look like a sausage. Maybe newborn would have been better? 😜 I packed it up for the vet to stick him in if needed.

She elected not to use the onesie either, and post-operative bun was too exhausted to mess with anything. He came home and took it easy all on his own. Still worrying about him the day after, since he was still recovering at his own pace. But the second day after had him hopping out for breakfast, and today (4 days later) he seems back to normal (and thrilled not to be unbalanced by that growth). I love that little guy.

Anyone else using collars or medical shirts or found other post-surgical options for their buns?

Three Spot loves exploring new things added to her bunvironment. Her sister, Blackie, took one look at these and ran for the hills! Boxes, willow hides, and timothy huts are favorites in our household. What do your buns like to bunstruct?

My social media has been full of buns of yore recently, who are still remembered, missed, and loved. Lots of my friends have been struggling with grief, too, as their pets age and pass over the rainbow bridge. Love your buns. These are Oatmeal (Oatmealy Doodle) and Uther Bundragon, who never got along (hated the sight of one another), but who were great bunpanions to me. I made them pose with this basket one Easter morning. They tolerated it. :)

It's that time of year again... Midwest Bunfest is taking place in October (Sunday, October 27) in Hilliard, OH. It's a great opportunity to meet other bunfolks and learn about various bun topics (they often have veterinarians who address rabbit medical issues), and, of course ALL the Bun Things (rabbit merchandise). You can even bring your rabbit(s)! Are you planning to attend?
