Hey my bunny people, listen up! Today is 104°, it is hot! Your bunny will get heat stroke & potentially die if not given proper care, so here are a few tips to help keep your bunnies cool. 1: make sure they are in a cool shady spot! If they are not move them to one immediately! 2: Ice bottles ice bottles ice bottles! I cannot stress enough how important these are! I like to take gallon plastic old juice or milk jugs and freeze a ton of them and make sure your bunny always has one! 3: Change out your bunnies water every couple hours! You will be amazed how fast it heats up even in the shade! This will keep it cool and add several ice cubes to it every time you change it! 4: Fans! Put a fan up against their cage to keep the air circulating! And even better, if you can strap a couple ice packs to the back of it so it will be sucking in cooler air! 5: Frozen treats! Any kind of fruits and veggies that bunnies can eat and can be frozen give to them! Frozen watermelon is great! Put a bunch of frozen treats on a plate and add some ice cubes and they will chew on the ice cubes and eat the frozen treats and this will help cool them down! 6: if you’re house/shop/garage/shed has air conditioning and you are able to bring them inside temporarily please do! Just remember you can’t take them right back outside into the heat if they’ve been in an air-conditioned area for a while, take them back outside later in the evening when it is cooled off a little more. Comments: Bunnies with long hair will heat up a lot quicker than short hair bunnies and according precautions should be taken! DO NOT do anything that could possibly stress your rabbits out in any way shape or form! If you have any questions/concerns please let me know!
