The more structure and discipline you teach your dog, the less effort it takes to handle them. Ask yourself, would you rather be yanked around, or enjoy a pleasant stroll with man's best friend? 2 fingers, that's all it should take

Perfect example!
Notice how he already has his eyes on my hands when I point and show where I want him. And then we reward with praise instead of treats. Slowly transitioning towards this, as opposed to always rewarding with food, keeps them focused and motivated.

Treats are tools! Especially with a dog this young with such a sporadic attention span, they work incredibly well to initially mark the desired behavior. We'll go into how to ween them off the treats in one of our next videos.

Azula is an absolute sweetheart, and if you hardly see her in the back, its because shes sat down, patiently waiting for someone to throw the ball again.

This isn't something you just wake up to one day randomly. You have to develop the routines and habits over a long period of time to truly master the craft, and that applies to everything in life.

We hope everyone's having a great day, chasing their dreams, and letting their inner dog out every once in a while.
Be playful, and energetic, but disciplined and with purpose.

We cannot stress how important this is, safety always comes first and that has to start before the child is even around the dog.

It may seem drastic, but notice the unintentional similarities between how a toddler interacts with a dog, compared to how we simulate an attacker during protection training.

A toddler cannot think for themselves. A dog is a primal sub-species. But you, you're an adult who can be held accountable if anything goes wrong. Reminder to prep your dog to be around children, and also not let your child close to strangers dogs that you're not certain about.
