Jennaโs journey into animal rescue began as a natural extension of her lifelong habit of picking up animals in need. Her career with the rescue organization started during a transformative time in her life, when a friend suggested the opportunity while she was in drug court. Seeking a fresh start, Jenna jumped at the chanceโand she hasnโt looked back since.
Though she didnโt have formal training in animal care prior to joining the rescue, Jennaโs love for animals and hands-on experience with them prepared her to take on this meaningful role.
Jenna credits Villalobos for saving her life. She had been at the rescue for going on 8 years and she calls the rescue home!

Jenna oversees the intake and care of incoming dogs and assists Mariah with various daily activities. Her main responsibilities include helping with medical needs and supporting the day-to-day work with the animals.
For Jenna, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing dogs find loving homes. On even the hardest days, watching a dog leave the rescue with a family reminds her why sheโs so passionate about her work.

Jenna has always been drawn to the โunderdogs,โ whether human or animal. Seeing how incredible dogs can beโdespite being abandoned or overlookedโinspires her to give them the love and attention they deserve, even if itโs just a few moments of her time.
She believes rescue work is just as rewarding for the adopter as it is for the dog, especially when you know the stories behind these resilient animals. Jenna feels strongly about the importance of rehabilitation and adoption, ensuring each dog gets a chance at a better life.

At home, Jenna has two beloved pets she adopted from the rescue. Her โscared boyโ has a funny habit of acting like heโs been abandoned, only to relax happily in bed once home. Then thereโs Millie, her new pup whoโs always full of surprises.
While Jenna loves all breeds, she admits sheโs always had a soft spot for labs, drawn to their playful and loyal personalities. For her, itโs not about the breedโitโs about each dogโs unique character.
One thing Jenna didnโt expect to learn from working with dogs? Just how resilient and forgiving they can be, no matter their past.

If Jenna could be any dog breed, sheโd choose to be a labโforever young, wild, and free! After a long day, her favorite way to unwind is to lie on the floor with her dogs, letting them soak up as much attention as they need.
Her most memorable rescue story involves a little dog named Pootie Girl. Although Jenna always dreamed of taking her home, it was bittersweet to see her adopted by a loving family. Knowing Pootie Girl found her happy ending is one of Jennaโs favorite moments in her rescue journey.
