Any Nashville people know anyone who could help?
A family very recently took in a dog (rescued from a kill shelter two weeks earlier) that has much greater separation anxiety than they were aware. They are expecting their first child this week and are really hoping that someone can foster Copper for a month while they bring their new child home and adjust to a newborn.
If you know anyone that could help, please reply and I'll get you in touch with the family. Thanks in advance.
From the family:
"Copper is a lab/shepherd mix between 1.5-2 years old. He has all of his shots and vaccines- he is currently not seeing a vet as he has been in transition for the past month, but paperwork can be provided. He was also neutered at the shelter.
Copper is a smart dog- understands basic commands & potty-trained (besides a few accidents upon arrival as he was unsure of his new home). He broke out of his crate twice (two different crates) and really hates the crate. However, we had great success last night putting an additional lock and giving him a special Kong ball while we were out and he was able to remain in the crate when we came home very calmly. He does not like for us to be in different rooms and wants to be around people.
Our heart and desire is to keep our dog following a month of adjusting to our baby. We weren’t told of the severity of his separation anxiety (which has improved over the course time) but we don’t want to be distracted as we welcome our first born to our home as Copper needs training and love that we feel unable to give him at this time."
