Dr. Alex Steele is a graduate of University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated in 2020 and has been practicing small animal medicine since her graduation. She enjoys preventive care and helping clients understand how to best care for their pets. In her free time, Dr. Steele likes to read, crochet, and spend time with her husband, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 3 guinea pigs. She is very excited to join the Apache Trail family and meet your furry family members!

Dr. Casey Wingo is a 2017 graduate from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She began her career as a large animal veterinarian and has since spent time in a variety of veterinary roles. Throughout her career, she has found her passion in veterinary dentistry and preventative care.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Wingo enjoys spending time riding horses and exploring new restaurants with her husband, Luke. They are both foodies and feel lucky to live in an area with such culinary diversity.

Fun Fact: They went to Thailand for their honeymoon!

Dr. Wingo was born and raised in Nolensville, TN and is excited to plant roots at Apache Trail. She prides herself on her ability to connect with people and understand their needs, which helps serve the ultimate goal of providing the best care for your pets.

My name is Kristina, and I have been in the pet grooming industry for more than 12 years. I enjoy grooming all breeds and have a special love for doodles and Airedales. My extensive experience includes grooming numerous breeds and coat types, with specialized skill in intricate scissor work. I like to groom with low-stress techniques, so your pets and I can enjoy each other's company and grow a positive relationship with one another.

When I’m not at work, I’m usually hanging out with my senior pup, Lenore. We like to kayak, hike, camp, fetch, swim, etc. together. She’s my shadow and my best friend!

🚗 🐶 Here are some tips for traveling with your pet:

1. Bring a Travel Kit
Make a travel kit that includes a water bowl, some pet food, a leash or harness, a toy or a blanket from home for comfort, and any medication they might need.

2. Consider Documentation That You Might Need
If you are going to be crossing state or country borders, you will need to have the right documentation for your pet.

3. Have a Carrier or Crate
A carrier or crate can help your pet feel safe and ensures you have control over their environment.

4. Don’t Leave Pets in Parked Cars When It’s Hot
Temperatures in cars during warm months can reach deadly levels extremely fast. Never leave your pet in the car unattended.

5. Make Sure Your Pet Has a Collar and ID Tag
Ensure your pet has a well fitted collar and ID tag. If your pet gets lost, an ID tag will help get them returned to you faster. Getting your pet microchipped will also ensure their safety while traveling!
