don’t forget !

Parents if you have any youth kids going to the AOHA state show at the end of this month. We are doing something fun for the kiddos this year.

As we all know not everyone gets to place at state show. With that being said we have decided to give the kiddos 6 more chances to win a trophy at the state show.

We will be doing “best dressed” this will count for the whole weekend.
We will have a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

We will also be doing a “best decorated stall “
This will take place on Saturday.

We will also be doing a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

If you’d like to enter your child into either one of these events please message me.

Andee Chafin
Age 7
Her horse is MJ

Andee's goals for this year is be a better rider and gain speed. She had a few horse changes last season and has now connected with her sweet horse and she's ready for them to continue to get in their groove and really get it all connected. She wants the "fastest time" lol she wants to knock a couple of seconds off her barrel and pole times and to get her horse not to buck running home sometimes lol she said to achieve these goals she has to ride everyday and take care of her horse and make sure he eats good. Brushing him and loving him helps too. She said working with her barrel teacher is going to help her too.

Andee says she would love to be a horse show queen because its a very special job. She thinks it would be fun to carry flags and wave and talk to people. MJ is a pro at carrying flags so they would be great. She will talk for days about her horse or any horse. And loves being in the spotlight.

Andee is 7 years old and in the 1st grade. She is also a horse fanatic. She started riding horses when she was about 4. She makes good grades at school. She is a sweet and very loving girl but also has a fiery wild side too. She loves to give people hugs and is a very loyal friend. She will have your back no matter what. She has a big heart and loves hard. She is our little wild child that likes to go fast. Andee was a t-baller but that got in the way of her horse time so she decided she didn't want to do that anymore. She loves to go fishing, play at the barn, spend time with her horses and dogs and she loves being the chute girl while her aunt ropes. She loves to be at the roping pen doing any and everything from practicing for shows, to pushing calves up, or running them down. She is the sweetest little fireball you'll ever meet. She loves horse show days soooo much. One of Andee's recent accomplishments is she won the 3d winter series she was just a part of and that was a super big deal to her. She has also won a couple of showmanship ribbons in the past. She also was reserve champion for the 12 & under walk/ trot class last year at southern tuff. Andee has a lot of try in her and we couldn't be more proud of her doing her very best.

Andee is going to be doing barrels, poles, arena race, walk/trot , and she's hoping to try some new events this season too .

Dillon Chafin
Age 10
Her horse is Tuff

Dillon's goals for this year is to keep working to become a better rider and horseman above all but she also is really focused on adding speed to her barrel and pole times. Shes working hard to shave off a few seconds on each. She said she also wants to learn and participate in some of the other show events that she didn't last year. She is hoping to learn the stake race and a few others. She says to achieve her goal of a faster time she is going to continue working with her barrel coach and really applying each tip or skill she learns each week to make her better. She has really learned the importance of slow work and connecting with her horse. She also says to achieve her goals she has to work her horse even on off days she stretches tuffs sore legs and makes sure he's ready to go again the next day. She makes sure he's eating good and gets extra popsicles for his reward for working so hard. She said practice makes perfect and it's fun to get to practice everyday on something you love so much. She said giving him lots of love helps them be better too.

Dillon says that she would love to be a horse show queen because it would be a really neat experience to learn a lot of cool new things and meet new people to teach her new things about horses and she really loves that side of the horse world too. She said being a horse show queen is a really big and special job. She said she loves NWASCA and would be proud to represent this club. She said she would love to get to make new friends and talk about horses and show stuff to everyone. It is a major major dream of hers to carry a flag. She has always wanted to do that and she says it would be a dream come true for her and tuff. Sweet tuff has carried many flags in his lifetime so it's right up his alley. She loves the timed events side so much but she also LOVES showing her horse off and he REALLY LOVES the spotlight and loves it when he knows people are watching him lol

Dillon is 10 going on 11. Shes in 5th grade. She started riding when she was about 6. She is very sweet and kind hearted. She has the sweetest soul. She is a straight A student. She is very responsible and takes her school work very serious. She is a very loyal friend and the biggest cheerleader to others. She loves to see others happy and doing good at anything they do. And is always there when you need her. She plays volleyball but has recently decided not to play anymore because it takes away from horse riding time lol She loves spending time with her horses!! If she's not riding, she's at the barn doing something with the horses or the dogs. She loves anything to do with horses, weather it's the yearly horse show at the fair, riding in parades , roping the calf dummy, going to horse shows and barrel races or just trail riding at home. She also loves helping push calves while her aunt ropes and being the chute girl. Shes up bright and early on saddle club mornings so excited and ready to go. She recently won several ribbons and a reserve champion title at the fair show with 3 of her horses, she also won the 2d in the winter series she recently wrapped up a few days ago. Dillon was also reserve champion for 12 and under poles and barrels last year at southern tuff. And probably the biggest accomplishment for her is she was saved and baptized at church and so she now has Jesus in her heart. She has big goals and has gained so much confidence coming to the shows. We are very proud of her and all she has learned and the hard work she puts in.

Dillon is going to do barrels, poles, arena race, walk/trot and she's hoping to enter some new events this season also.

Abree's goals for this year are...
- Finally let her mare run and work her stuff!!
- Start breakaway roping
- Place at every saddle club show

Abree wants to be princess because she loves these saddle club shows and her love for horses is just as big. She carried flags in the Parade of Colors at AOHA23' and has carried flags many times previously and would love to carry more throughout her rein! Representing the youth association will also boost Abree even more out of her comfort zone, and she plans to help boost others confidence too. She will be your big sister while you run and always be the one screaming the loudest for you!!

Abree was Southern Tuff Barrel Racing, Arena Race, and Walk Trot Champion for the 2023 season. She also just recently won her very first barrel racing buckle at the T Bar W Winter Series. Abree has a big love for the queening world with not one, not two, but three rodeo queening titles!

Adalaide McClendon and Gator will be competing in all youth timed events. It's their first season together and Adalaide is super excited to see how well they do! Adalaide wants to try something new this year so her and her pony Rebel are going to try pony halter. It should be fun to watch!

Adalaide would love to be a Horse Show Princess so she can wave and smile at everyone in the arena. She's also an amazing helper and can do anything she's showed how to do. Adalaide has always wanted to be just like her big sister. She's watched her carry flags and heard her sisters name announced at many rodeos. Adalaide is ready for her time to shine. What little girl doesn't dream of being a queen or princess?

Braelyn Aldridge

Age 14
Horse : possum
I started riding horses when I was 5.
I started haltering horses when I was 8. I didn't really get into the timed events until I was 9 years old when my parents finally moved us back to Alabama. Since then I have become a member of several different horse show groups such as NWBSC, DSC, Southern tuff, white pines and now the NWAYSC. I have shown on all ends of the show pen. I've competed in halter, walk trot, western pleasure, ranch rail and all of the timed events.
I have carried flags and so much more.

Riding horses never crossed my mind until my cousin through me on one when I was 5 years old. After that I have been hooked and ride my horse every chance that I can. I have also become a huge part of helping my cousin break and train horses. Horses are a huge passion of mine and, I am very thankful that I get to work with them as they are a huge part of my life.

I want to be horse show queen because, it would be following in my cousins footsteps and, it would give me the opportunity to branch out and do new things in our horse showing community.

My goals for this year are to be consistent all year round meaning I am going to try my hardest to not knock over any barrels or poles.

Natalie is 9 years old and this is her 4th year riding. She competes in all timed classes- barrels, pole bending, stake race, and arena race. She absolutely loves to ride and works hard to improve her riding. If it’s not raining, she’ll be out working her horses. She is stepping up this year and plans to compete on her rockstar pony Bayley and her horse Fly this season. Her goals are to not knock anything over during her runs, to place first as much as possible, and place in every class at State!
