Sebastian got his feet all trimmed up. Will definitely take some time for him to look like he should, bit I am pleased with the progress! The worst hoof was longer than my hand. Not sure what happened to him ik the past as we have no background on him, but I have never seen a case quite like his. Excited to see his progress and see how he looks in a month or so after his next trim. ❤

He has come a long way from the wild feral c**t he was when he got here. Still has a long way to go but he's already a sweetheart!

Rummy ❤

I was a little nervous about this guy, wasn't sure what to expect from a wild stud who had been on the kill lot for over a month. Most horses lose condition and get sick in the pens, especially when they are there for a long time. Not much info came with this Stallion, all I knew was that he was unhandled, still a Stallion, and no one wanted him. I was so relieved when he arrived healthy and in pretty good condition.

I'm excited to see how he progresses and cant wait to share more updates with everyone. He will be staying here for awhile and will hopefully turn into a gentle giant in time. Because he is older and most likely was used for breeding in the past, we will keep him a stud until this fall. This time of year a mature Stallion has very high testosterone. In the fall this hormone decreases a lot and combined with cooler temperatures makes it the best time to geld with less risk of complications and makes it a lot easier on the horse.

Stay tuned to see this guys progress and watch him turn into a true gentleman ❤

THEY ARE SAFE! Thank you to everyone that shared and donated, updates to come!

World donkey day has come and gone and these 4 are still in desperate need of saving!!

😩 They ship on Sunday, this is an 🆘️!! They only have a few days left before they ship to a horrible death. Bail is 2️⃣7️⃣5️⃣ each and we will cover transport and all other intake costs. We need to raise a total of 1️⃣1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ to get these girls safe!

This my friends is what peace and freedom looks like. Full bellies and the opportunity to just be a horse and enjoy life.

Its been raining here every single day for the past 2 weeks. This is the first day we've had some nice warm sunshine. So nice to see everyone taking it easy and enjoying life! All the horses are turned out to pasture except for a couple I am currently working with. Everything around here is just a muddy mess which makes it real hard to really work with anyone very much. So they will be out enjoying themselves for the next few weeks! I think its so cute how they all form their own little herds across the field. They gather in groups of 3 or 4 and hang out as best buddies. You'll see these same groups together every day. Occasionally I see them joined up in a big group but for the most part they all stick to their individual herds.

I will post individual updates with everyone's story here when the mud dries up enough for better pictures and I have more time to post. Everyone is thriving and living life to the fullest here!

Two of "the five" went to their new home yesterday! Leo and Louie as they are now named, found an awesome home with some family friends of mine that were looking for some buddies for their lonely donkey. Leo (center) and Louie (Right) are happy and health and loving life with their new friend! This is what new life looks like, saved from the brink of slaughter, now living a full new life.

Our other 3 donkey friends need names! They are doing well and gaining weight well. These are 5 of the 8 donkeys we saved from McLean Texas. The other 3 are in rehab with Casey Tyler. They are doing great and really becoming my buddies! They love their grain and scratches (the skinny one is still very shy).

Look at Melon, their little horsie buddy! She is gaining weight so nicely. Still very shy but she's getting a lot of time to just be a horse and unwind from all her trauma. She has come a long way as well!

Sorry I got extremely busy taking care of all the animals and didn't get a chance to post update pictures yet! Little Sebastian is home safe! ❤
Started halter training right away in hopes of getting those feed addressed asap. He is coming along well! Leading is going well but his was unhandled so he is very skittish and won't let me touch his feet yet. He is being kept inside my barn, out of the mud, on clean straw with his new buddy. She is also learning to hold her feet for trimming so they get to learn together! Hes very smart and won't take much time to learn, just needs to learn to trust me first. Hopefully we can get the first trim done soon and see if he will need x-rays or not. Stay tuned for transformation posts!

Angels, can we get some help saving this poor little c**t? His feet are in horrible condition and will need farrier care and possibly x-rays. He is an hour and a half from me, I will cover half the cost and will go pick him up as soon as funds are raised!

Happy Easter everyone!

Seems like a fitting day to post an update. 6 lives brought back from deaths door of slaughter have made it home to safety this week! 5 donkeys from McLean Texas have arrived and are settled in and enjoying life! (3 of the 8 donkeys were homed with Casey Tyler.)
Melon, the mustang from Stroud, is also safe and getting settled in nicely. She will need a lot of time to relax and unwind before we tackle her behavior issues. This poor sweet girl has already been passed around multiple times and was even traded back to the kill pen once. She is scared and just doesn't know what to expect next. Shes going to be such a sweetheart in due time!

This life is so much better than the alternative of a dirty kill pen and inevitable death. They have so much life left to live and enjoy! Thank you to everyone that donated and help get these souls to safety!! Stay tuned for more updates, freedom pictures on several others will be posted later this week when they get here! Thank you all for your kindness and support with the tedious rescue of equines out of the slaughter pipeline, we appreciate you and they won't forget what you've sacrificed to save them. ❤
