Hey LTL Pack Members,
PRIVATE PHOTO SHOOT opportunity this Fall at High Cliff.
See announcement on LTL Pack private group for details and to vote on the poll for preferred times.
Please DO NOT let your dogs drink the water. This includes Rydell Conservancy and the flood waters.
📢 Just a heads up there is a water closure right now:
🛑 Fritse Park (937 N Lake St, Neenah)
This location is closed due to elevated levels of E coli. A serious risk of illness may be present.
While there may be no direct swimming access at testing locations, testing E coli at various access points gives boaters and other water users a better idea of how water quality can vary across our county.

FURRY FACES: Some CUTE puppy FACES from the recent PAST…
As a value added I offer group classes to my clients to help them practice with real-life distractions what their dogs have learned in their Programs.
We had a FANTASTIC group class last night. In the pictures the dogs (who range in age from 6 months to just over a year) were practicing Settling Skills with Distractions. Some of those Distractions included people, other dogs, bikes, kids, a motorized kid’s car, scooters, and more. Great job everyone!!

Impulse Control is one of the biggest struggles most owners have with their dogs. Dogs have to be taught how to control these natural impulses and the only way to learn impulse control is by practicing. Teaching your dog settling skills like place, settle on a mat, or even a SOLID down command will help them learn to be calmer, even with distractions. This training takes time and A LOT of practice, first with minimal distractions so they can learn the behavior(s) you want and then gradually upping the Distractions. The more Distractions the harder it is for the dog to control those natural impulses, so take your time and train it right to help set your dog up for maximum success. In the video 6 month old Marley is practicing Place outside with Distractions. Good girl Marley!!
Q1) What’s YOUR “favorite” thing to do WITH your dog? Q2) What’s your dog’s “favorite” thing to do WITH you? A1) Go figure, my favorite thing to do is train new things and work on solidifying what she already knows. A2) Aoife’s favorite thing is to play fetch and play fetch, and play fetch!!

Impulse Control… is crucial for all puppies/dogs to learn. Learning impulse control helps them to be a friendly, well-mannered member of not just your family but the community. Allowing you to do more with your dog. Place is just one command that can help with impulse control. It gives dogs a job to do (stay on the place bed) instead of doing the behavior you don’t want. Did I mention that these pups are just 4 months and 5 months old. If you’d like to find out more, let’s talk. I’d LOVE to help!!
Impulse control is hard!! Aoife has been with me a week and she is already mastering door manners. Good girl!!

Let’s talk about Responsiveness. What does it mean for a dog/puppy to be Responsive? The definition of Responsive is: reacting or replying quickly or favourably, as to a suggestion, initiative, etc It’s important for your dog/puppy to be responsive when given a command. Here Lexi is demonstrating a Responsive in-motion down. Good girl Lexi!!
