CAT MISSING!!!
Cricket went missing Thursday, 8/15.
She lives at the corner of Nehalem Ave. & Keel St. in Rockaway. She's wearing a collar and tag with contact info, but she's skittish with strangers, so if you see her but can't catch her, PLEASE call me at 406-370-2132. Thanks so much!"

21 cats needed relocation asap. Local called in distress needing fast help removing abandoned cats from a property. Joining forces with Cat Alliance Team Sanctuary, we removed as many as we could catch safely. They were all terrified and it became a real cat rodeo situation. Live traps will be set to catch and get medical care to the remaining kitties. Taking shifts to feed and care for them with the help of rescue rangers. Again our community comes together to help where help is needed. So proud.

Warning graphic content!

Frightening experience at the rescue teaches important lessons.
First of all I would like to make the statement that you should always have control of your animal when out in the public.

Wednesday night after long day of chores, the animals are fed and its time to start dinner, when I get the call.. incoming dog with several deep puncture wounds bleeding out! Well after 7 pm all veterinary staff has gone home for the evening, they need rest also.

I grab wound balm and quick stop powder and make a paste as the man brings his dog in. I pack the punctures with the paste and tie off the upper leg just before the main effected area. Luckily I was able to reach our vet tech and he walked me through exactly what to do and we were able to get the bleeding stopped. Poor pup left in stable condition but in shock.
I know this is very graphic content but it's the reality of what can happen when dogs fight in public spaces and it starts the conversation, should we all learn more emergency care for pets?

I had permission from the owner to show this picture and used the least graphic photo taken, it makes its point.

Little Ceder and Oak found their forever home yesterday 💕

After meeting them at Day of the Dog fundraiser event, their hearts were set on these two sweet, fluffs that had a very hard begging to life.

I would like to congratulate Ayden Fields and little mister Ahmi. Another perfect match and successful adoption! This is why we do what we do. Saving the lives of animals and humans is what we do best. Bringing community together and working as one to solve problems and save lives. Ahmi and Ayden are going to live a happy, healthy life together for many years to come.

A short story. Ayden lost his best friend Lola of 13 years a few months ago and has felt a huge void in his life. He wasn't planning on getting another puppy for quite some time , UNTIL..... He saw little Ahmi's picture and absolutely had to meet him! He drove an hour away as fast as he could to the fosters home, getting stopped for speeding in Garibaldi 🫢 and finally arriving at a little past 9pm. It was love at first sight. Hugs, smiles, and LOTS of kisses. Ahmi will have 5 Acres of property to run around on with a river, flowing in the back. His new daddy Ayden is going to take excellent care of him, give him everything he needs and take the little dude EVERYWHERE, and give him the very best life.

We are so happy for them both!

Thank you all SO much for all your love and support. We couldn't do ANY of this without each and every one of you!

Sweet boy Apollo is still searching for his forever family. He just had a check up with Dr Matt and was such a good boy getting his shots. He is very good with the children who visit him at Kelly's. Please share to help reach as many as possible.

Apollo, 4yo male husky, 67lbs. He has a clean bill of health from his recent vet visit and is up to date on vaccines. Still looking for a forever home for this sweet boy. He’s great with kids, but not cat compatible at all, and has some food aggression, so would need some training in this area and probably no small children who might not understand food/bone boundaries. He has recently gone on his first boat ride, and although understandably hesitant about getting in and out- he loves the cruising experience!

Sad night will be followed by sad day.

Unfortunately little baby Gray passed away. Heartbreaking when you give the best care possible but it's too late for recovery. His brother is still hanging in there and stable but he needs all your positive energy sent his way.
He had love and cuddles, food and a warm bed in his last days and that thought bring me comfort.

We have been dealing with so much lately, our team is running on fumes so please forgive delays and be kind and patient. One wave at a time and just keep swimming.

*Update*
Thank you to everyone who helped find this baby a safe and loving home. She has been picked up by awesome rescue ranger and is safe and sound. With shelters and rescues at max capacity, it takes a village. And I am so thankful for the one we have.

Two very sick babies delivered today by rescue ranger Shawn. After Bathing and feeding kitten formula they were a lot less lethargic, but the care needed is definitely above my abilities. These two cuddle bugs are being picked up by Brian and Aliyah for professional care. Sometimes it takes the whole team for success. Send some healing prayers their way tonight.

This one year-old tabby cat is in desperate need Of a place to rest her head. Her mom has to surrender her asap due to lack of housing. Communication is with the Family who has her.

Rosco is a 7 month old pit mix puppy (not neutered. He has lot of energy but after playing for a while he can get wiped out and sleep for a good while. He LOVES a good stick and will carry it the entire way home.

He’s a great dog but needs a bigger space as we currently live in an apartment. He was a rescue when he was about 8-10 weeks old. We believe he was abused as he is pretty skittish but we’ve been working on building his confidence. He’s a little stubborn when it comes to training so it takes a high value treat and some patience. He loves people and other dogs more than anything so he will definitely be good in a household with other dogs and people but do to his intense energy and jumping he might not do too great in a home with toddlers.

He deserves a home with people who are somewhat active and have a big yard. He has a kennel which he sleeps in at night and whenever we’re gone. He’s potty trained and would make a great emotional support animal.

He is pretty good with recall and when we use his gentle leader he walks pretty amazingly. His only “negative” aspects are jumping on people and barking out of excitement and chewing. He’s still young and he doesn’t chew as much as he used to and when he has good toys he doesn’t mess with anything else but he goes through toys very quickly. Also due to his high energy he’s not very gentle with small dogs sometimes but he has a huge soft side and can nibble on their ears for hours.

Posting for a friend. Their cat is missing. Her name is Whiskers, she is spayed and wearing a blue collar with pink heart-shaped tag with her name and owner’s phone number. She went missing up on highway 53 where she lives at the hatchery. She was last seen on the 19th, her family was out of town. If you live nearby and have seen her/found her please contact April at 503-806-4924. They are very discouraged and hope that a wild animal did not find her first. They have put out her litter box with no luck yet. Please share, she is such a wonderful cat ❤️

Congratulations to Ash, Ember, Blaze and Rio for finding their forever homes. This has been a true blessing to love on these baby’s and witness the joy on their faces when they found their forever pack!

We will be picking up the rest and getting them treated and ready for their new family. Pics to come soon.

Late posting, but yesterday was a good day.
Picked up awesome donation from Pelican and Piper and The Bunk House Motel to be raffle off at the Nehalem Winery, for The Day Of The Dog fundraiser on August 3. We are so thankful for the support of our local businesses and this community. If your business would like to donate an item, gift basket, gift certificate, or just donate directly to the cause. Funds raised this year will support many of the local shelters. You can reach out to schedule a pick up or drop off directly at the winery. We hope to see everyone there to enjoy good music, food, and family fun. So don’t forget to save the date.

Huge shout out to Kelly's Marina for their unwavering support! This donation couldn’t have come at a better time, as our spay and neuter account was depleted.

With everyone’s help and dedication, Animal Haven has helped so many, (actual count numbers to come) cats, kittens, pups and adult dogs, get Spayed/Neutered this year and I’m excited to continue making a dent in the over population of unwanted and unloved fur baby’s.

We are so thankful for Kelly’s and their staff for what they contributed to this community.
