A good dog trainer will practice what we preach! While no dog is a robot, I maintain training with my dogs and use opportunities such as dinner dates or walks at the park to work on commands and keep things sharp.
Having two large dogs to take places might seem like a bit of a challenge. However, training makes that absolutely doable! If I want to take my dogs out to dinner with me, they will happily hold a down stay by my feet until I’m done. As you can see, my lab is happy to see people while my husky just stares intently 😂

Teaching heeling, as well as dual heeling if you have two dogs, is something we offer in training! It makes walks like this much more enjoyable for the humans because you’re not worried about tripping over dogs and falling off a path 🥴😂 We can peacefully walk around dog friendly national monuments, and if I decide to stop and read an informational plaque then my dogs sit quietly and patiently and they wait. If we pass someone, it’s easy to just walk on by because they’re trained to do that instead of greeting everyone we pass.

I’m not gone, but I am taking a little time off to unpack and organize after moving into a bigger house, and I’m also going to be traveling a bit. Morgan will still be training puppies, on-leash and off-leash dogs while I’m gone! Any behavior modification clients will be put on my schedule, and I’m booking in the 1st/2nd weeks of November.
I’ll probably have some little informative videos to share with y’all while I’m away, and I may post some pictures of our adventures as well 🙂

That’s a wrap, Loki! Loki has just finished up his program and is getting ready to return home with off-leash training skills. Y’all may have noticed that we also worked on training around other dogs quite a bit - we wanted to make that a focus after returning to training. He came for our advanced puppy program, and has now completed off-leash training. The best way to get the most out of training is to start as soon as you can and complete the highest level you can, and he’s done great!
