When I first met Lily at the shelter, I noticed a lot of anxiety. She was trembling and hesitant as I approached her. Once she smelled me and got comfortable, she became more affectionate. However, her anxiety was still evident.

Do you know the chewing behaviors and tendencies of your dog?

We get a lot of messages from pet parents asking us about how each of our products will hold up? They may ask if the coffee wood is "Doberman tested" or if their dog will tear up the Coffee and Coco toy.

While we can share experiences and testimonies about other dogs, we really don't know how your specific dog will do with the questioned product. Some dogs may tear up the coconut rope and make a mess within hours, while others will tug, play, and gnaw on it for weeks or even months, never tearing it apart.

And the funniest thing is that all breeds are different. We have seen a German Shepherd play gently with the Coffee and Coco tug, while a miniature poodle teared his up.

The best way to figure out what chews and toys to get your pup is to learn their specific playing and chewing tendencies and behaviors. Mojo here was an aggressive chewer from the day he came home. He would chew on walls, windowsills, furniture, toys-you name it, he chewed on it. His pet parents tried all sorts of chews and bones, but nothing could keep him occupied for very long. Either he would devour the chew in minutes or he would lose interest. Plus his pet parents were concerned about some of the ingredients and plastics that the toys and chews contained.

Getting a Canophera Sheep Horn changed everything for Mojo. When he was first given the Sheep Horn, Mojo did not want to stop chewing. However, his pet parents realized they could use it as a training tool. So after 20 minutes of chewing, they took it away. When they saw he was becoming bored or began to chew on something he wasn’t supposed to, they gave him the sheep horn back. After doing this a few times, he began to understand what he was and wasn’t allowed to chew. Plus the best part was that he would be more calm and relaxed after chewing.
