Do Coconut Rope Toys make a mess?

Since coconut rope toys are made of small coconut fibers there will be some pieces left behind. The mess really depends on how aggressively the dog plays and chews.

Some dogs may enjoy gnawing and shredding the rope, leaving very little mess. While other dogs love tugging, playing fetch, which could pull off more pieces. Either way, the mess can easily be vacuumed or swept up.

Does Coffee wood splinter?

Unlike many traditional woods, coffee wood does not splinter but rather comes off in flakes. Depending on how aggressively your dog chews, the flakes that come off will vary in size.

As the dog chews, his saliva softens the wood, making the small flakes easily digestible. If your dog manages to get off bigger pieces, simply discard them.

We recommend monitoring your dog while chewing so he doesn't ingest too much at once which could cause digestive discomfort. If your dog chews aggressively, you may want to limit his chewing sessions to 20 minutes or less at a time.

Choosing the correct chew size for your dog is incredibly important. Not only will your dog be better able to hold the chew in his mouth, but he will also have the correct level of challenge.

If the chew is too small for your dog, he may break down the chew too quickly. This will not only take away the chewing challenge for your dog but will also greatly decrease the longevity of the chew.

If the chew is too big, your dog may not be able to hold the chew and may become frustrated. This could also cause him to lose interest quicker.

We recommend choosing the correct size based on your dog's weight. However, if your dog is an aggressive chewer, we suggest sizing up.

Can my small dog have Canophera Chews?

Yes, Canophera chews come in a range of sizes from XS to XL. Pet parents can choose the right size chew for their pup based on his/her weight. Even small dogs under 10lbs. can chew extra-small chews happily and safely.

Since Canophera chews are suited to the dog's size, this ensures the dog can appropriately grasp the chew. It also prevents the dog from chewing through the chew too quickly, while giving him the challenge he is looking for.

If your dog is an aggressive chewer, we recommend sizing up so he has more of a challenge while chewing. If your dog is around 80lbs, you would look at a large Coffee Wood stick. However, if your dog is a strong chewer, we would suggest an extra-large stick.

Canophera chews are for all sizes and breeds of dogs. As long as pet parents choose the correct size of chews, all dogs can chew happily and safely.
