🌧️Tropical storm Debby is gonna be giving us some rain 🌧️ 
With this rain, lots of wildlife will be displaced
💡 Here are some tips if you find an abandoned injured or orphaned wildlife

🌧️ DO keep in a container ( ie box with holes or carrier kennel)
🌧️ DO keep in a warm and dark environment
🌧️DO use a heating pad on low

⚡️ DON’T give food or water
(no matter HOW long it takes to get to a rehabber)
⚡️ DON’T bathe (no matter how dirty)
⚡️ DON’T trust google (wait for instructions from a wildlife rehabber)

Most of these animals we get from the storm will need antibiotics for pneumonia, so please make sure that they are being given to somebody with proper wildlife training

Pupdate - rescue committed

We are still in serious need of a rescue for this sweet momma and her 9 pups! Lucy is the best mom and all of her babies are plump little potatoes! Lucy shares her babies willingly, is dog friendly and craves attention from her human friends! She is lightly heartworm positive, weighs about 60 pounds and is approximately 3 years old. The shelter is no place to raise a family. We know everyone is packed and fosters are scarce and on vacation. You are willing to become a foster please message us!!

Please spread the word for this lost cat. Baby was LOST on July 4, 2024 in New Bern, NC 28562 near Trent Farms Road, Hwy 17 Bypass Junction

Message from Owner: This is "Baby". She is a feral cat. She gives a meaning to be a survivor. She was one of twelve that survived Hurricane Florence. All of her colony drowned during that storm. She was 6 months when I decided to take her to my . I got her spayed after she had her first litter of kittens. Since she has been spayed she does not leave the yard. We call her Sargent because she marches around the hse like a security guard. She was last seen July 4 on cameras at 10:40pm. Her son George continues to have hope, he keep searching for her. She is very selective in who she allows to touch or rub her. If you see Baby or spot her on your cameras message us or call.
