2023 was one hell of a year. Many horses came and went and with every one a new lesson was learned.

In January I sold the first c**t I ever started on my own and purchased a 17.2h ottb who taught me a lot about thoroughbreds but unfortunately we didn’t click. I got to learn how to jump on a clients wonderful horse and later sold my ottb to that client.

In April I took a chance adopted a raggedy BLM mustang filly who turned out to be a beautiful jet black filly with brains and beauty and I got to watch her transform with good nutrition as the months passed. 3 days later I picked up a beautiful 2.5yr old QH dun filly who turned out to be everything I was looking for in a horse, and I got the honor of watching her progress and learn as the months passed and got to bond with her and she continues to impress me daily.

In June I took a gamble on a big paint horse with a bowed tendon and after 5 months of recovery with the helpful guidance of our amazing vet we got to see how smart and broke this big loveable dude was. I cannot wait to see what 2024 has in store for Mr Rip.

In July I got the honor of starting a little appy gelding for a client. After many battles of who was the boss of who we had that breakthrough and I’m happy to say he went to his very first show in October and made us all proud. I look forward to watching him and his rider progress next year.

I’m thankful for all the horses who have come into my life this year and the horses who have been in the barn the whole time. I’m grateful for each and every client, horse and human and I look forward to what’s in store for us in 2024! Thank you all for an amazing year!!

Lacey went on her very first trail ride on this beautiful 50° day in December! She took absolutely everything in with a brave spirit and I’m very happy with her. Between wildlife, speeding cars, four wheelers and even some scary pony eating puddles she took it all in without too much hesitation. I’m very proud of this little filly ♥️

Fall Fuzzies 2023 in the books! We have never brought so many green horses to a show before and we weren’t sure on how that would work out for us but every horse came to play and I’m so proud of them!

Maddie Nault and her new 4yr old c**t Buck competed in the green horse walk trot division for their very first show together. The little appy took this fairly big show in incredibly well and I’m so excited for next year for Maddie and Buck as they progress together as a team! Great job Maddie!

Karyssa Boyer and her 4yr old Rebel also competed in the green horse walk trot division for their first real show together as a team! Rebel was the very first client c**t I ever started and I’m so incredibly proud of how he handled his first show. Karyssa went into this show a bit nervous as it’s her very first pleasure show and she entered every class confident and showed each one like she’s been doing it for years! I’m so proud of you both for facing this challenge and keeping a good attitude throughout the day!

Shae Tassi showed little miss Willow, my mustang yearling in the costume class making this Willow’s very first show!

Shae Tassi also showed our palomino mare Dixie in the walk trot canter green horse division and they both did fantastic. Dixie was shown english as she is very quick and not the type for western pleasure. After a difficult first class both Dixie and Shae planned how to set up for success in the following classes and it paid off tremendously, helping them win their last class of the day, command. I’m very proud of my little palomino mare but also proud of Shae for taking on such a challenging horse for her first show back in the saddle after having a confidence ruining fall. You two did amazing!

Gillian Boyer took her gelding Rio for the games and Rio did not disappoint placing 3rd in mint julep for his first year doing it and running his heart out in barrels and poles!

Gillian Boyer also brought her new mare Maple to join in on the fun for their very first show together. After a few hiccups they both got on the same pge and ended having a fantastic end to the day in barrels and poles. Maple ended up placing above her brother in both barrels and poles for her first time racing them! I see a very promising future for these two!

I took Tuck to play in the fun classes towards the end of the day and all I can say is he put his 100% effort into every class we did. This show was his second ever and I threw him in mint julep which he’s never done before and we got the blue. Tuck ran barrels and poles placing in the top 3 in both. I’m so incredibly happy with his performance and attitude taking in all the chaos a busy show has.

I also took my 3yr old filly Lacey for walk trot barrels and poles and the carrot race. I didn’t end up having the time I had hoped to warm her up going into pole bending with her however she placed 4th with a very nice pattern. Her barrel pattern was equally as nice placing her 3rd and I am just so impressed with her willingness and overall attitude towards new things. She’s going to be one incredible mare someday!

Willow was introduced to gunfire last night as well as Lacey and both girls did incredible. One reason I suggest mustangs to many people is in the video below. Willow has never seen gunfire, never heard it other than off in the distance and this is her very first raw experience with the guns. These mustangs are truly their own breed and as long as you bring them up right they’re as bomb proof as a horse can possibly be. I don’t think Willow will be a mounted shooting horse but I like to desensitize my horses as much as I can!

Buck was so good for his first official ride today! This little 4yr old has grown up so much in the past month I am very pleased with his progress so far!!

The Double T Horsemanship team showed up to play today at the New Boston Gymkhana! All riders did fantastic with every single rider faster than the show before.

Maddie with Red won her division again today even with a tricky pole pattern and losing her stirrups.

Kailey came down to play with her mare Cora and ran some beautiful smooth patterns all day.

Brittany had her first show on Tric and even got to hit a new gear by the end of the day. Brittany also had her son Cole who got to show Dakota in the leadline for his first show as well.

Gillian with Rio just keep getting faster every show. Rio put Gillian in the 1D and 2D throughout the day and had the second fastest pole pattern of the day right behind myself and Red.

Elizabeth with her gelding Monty had a fantastic day staying in the blue and keeping feisty Monty on track.

Barry hit new gears with his gelding Chaos and moved up from his consistent 3D times to the 2D.

I’m very proud of every single one of these riders and their horses today! Each and every rider conquered a goal they had set for themselves and everyone had great sportsmanship throughout the day!

Double rider highlight!!

Maddie Nault won all of her classes and took home the day end championship win for her division. Congratulations Maddie and keep up the good work!!

Late to post but I’m very proud of all our riders at the New Boston Gymkhana 7/22 show. Each and every rider tested themselves and each and every one exceeded their expectations! Gillian and Rio set their new personal best times for almost every class finding a new gear. Maddie and Red had every class clean and smooth and kept consistent times throughout the day. I personally ran out horse Tric who came back from an injury for his first show of the season. Karyssa’s horse Snappy came to play and was very well behaved while this is all new to him and karyssa did a fantastic job with her new horse Haven who is still very green. Elizabeth had a fantastic first show with her horse Monty for their very first show. I’m very happy for all our athletes equine and human and congratulations to you all!!

New Boston Gymkhana show 2 in the books!

Maddie Nault riding Red had a fantastic day and came home with the day end championship for the 12 and under division!!

Gillian Boyer had some awesome runs ba****ck with her gelding Rio and did a very nice job with her new mare Lilly. Unfortunately Lilly was off after the first class resulting in her being scratched for the rest of the day but she took her very first show like a champ.

We brought our two fillies, Lacey and Willow to the show for their very first time off property since they came to us. Both fillies stood quiet and calm at the trailer all day and took all the sights and smells in.

I could not be happier with how our crew of horses and riders did. Rain doesn’t slow this crew down!!

Today was a big day for Lacey!

Lacey is my 2yr old quarter horse filly. Miss Lacey was introduced to the saddle today for the first time and she was about as perfect as any 2yr old can be!! I look forward to working with and bonding with this sweet little lady

Yesterday was a busy day for our little mustang. She was ponied off of Dakota and Rio for the first time and later worked on her trailer loading. Now just to haul her to some shows with us and let her be a baby until next year!

Meet Maddie Nault!!

Maddie has been riding at Double T Horsemanship since October 2022. Maddie has ridden many of our horses and put in countless hours in the saddle learning all she could. This past Sunday Maddie won all 5 of her classes and took home the day end championship on Red. Keep up the hard work Maddie!!
