Uh oh! Brooklyn has the same love for dogs as we do!!! Her face lights up when she sees them and she will scream until you let her touch them!! (No worries, we are careful to prevent grabbing and hitting. She's gentle with doggies and kitties. It's humans that get the brunt of her abuse 😂)

Brooklyn has been meeting all her new friends! We are taking pups but limiting how many for right now until mom figures out what sleep is again!

Brooklyn has arrived safe and sound! Mom is sleep deprived and completely happy about that! Baby is doing great! In typical me fashion, I've begged for a quick discharge so I can get back home to our furry babies! Kaya isn't happy with me being gone and is on a hunger strike.

We will be taking some time off to welcome our baby and establish our new "normal" beginning Monday May 23rd. We will be reopening to boarding and daycare once we are settled in and will update then! For now, the months of June and July don't hesitate to reach out if you need us! We will be scheduling some but limiting to 1 at a time.

I hear at work sometimes "your a dog trainer so your dogs are well behaved". Have you ever knocked at my door? 😅 that will show you just how NOT well behaved they can be. Let's take this picture for instance...kaya looks to just be relaxing with the little guy enjoying his bone. In reality, kaya wants so badly to resource guard that bone but she knows I have my eyes on her. Resource guarding is a behavior that a dog displays that is meant to deter dogs or sometimes humans from going near something they consider "high value". The behavior that they display can range from a growl to an aggressive bite. Kayas consists of only a growl. With kaya, she resource guards cats and bones. I allow the guarding of the cats because kaya will not hurt another dog or person but we discourage guarding of bones. A common misconception with dog training is we can cure a behavior. Most times this is not true. We can manage and work on making it easier to handle, but we often times can't cure! So while kaya isn't growling while another dog has a bone, she's trying her best to be ok with it but it's still a work in progress. We've accomplished getting this far by not allowing her to practice the behavior, using strong "leave it" commands, and using leadership to teach her they aren't hers, they are actually mine, and I can take them away at any time!
