Max was born on September 4, 2011. He was adopted by his first Mom, Amanda, as a puppy. His brother, Cooper, was adopted shortly thereafter. Amanda, Max and Cooper traveled from North Carolina to Michigan after Amanda finished dental school. Thereafter, Amanda got married and they all moved to Minnesota. Soon, Amanda had two children, but Max didn’t adjust well to the quick moving toddlers, and Amanda made the very difficult decision to rehome Max.

The passing of our sweet dog Rocky was so incredibly difficult and will be one of the hardest losses we've been dealt. Rocky truly was the goodest of boys and made our lives so full. He was a brave protector, great big brother to his animal and human siblings, and could make a friend out of anyone.
Rocky was 5 when we rescued him from a home that had stopped caring about him and we wish we could have had him with us sooner. He hadn't known a yard, treats, or a space to call his own until he came to be part of our family. Even through his rough start he has always been the most kind and loving family fur member. We're so very lucky to have been able to provide him with anything he could have wanted. His dad quickly became his favorite person and Rocky would wait to meet him at the door after work. He was so smart and learned to listen for the GPS ping notification on our phones for when mom or dad came home. Rocky taught his cat siblings how to play and how to love humans (even the toddler). He taught his little humans to be gentle and took the blame for them when messes were made.
We couldn't have asked for a better companion these last 8 and a half years. Near the end he loved napping in the grass with full sun and waiting for his human siblings to miss their mouths at dinner.
We love you so much Rocky, and hope you're running around getting treatos and ALL the ear scratchies you could ever hope for.

Gracie went to heaven on May 17th, 2024. She was 15 years old. Gracie was 2 years old when I adopted her. The rescue said, “we have a long legged chihuahua for adoption”, I thought no way do I want a chihuahua, but I’ll take a look. Not even knowing what you looked like I walked in the adoption event and saw you. I knew it was you and I was instantly in love. Bonded for life.

January 15th, 2023 to May 21st, 2024

Frankie was rescued in March of 2023 at the age of 8 weeks. He had a grade 6 heart murmur due to a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), which essentially is a hole in his heart. Frankie had surgery at the University of Minnesota in April of 2023 to fix the defect, but unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful. His life expectancy was unknown.

Opal was found in rough shape in Florida by a pitbull rescue service. The original foster says she came right up to her car searching for help and hopped right in. It was clear she was coming from a bad place having her ears unprofessionally cropped, scarring across her body, and in bad need of a meal.

Here is a picture of Belle, she made such an impact on our lives, I can’t even find the words to express what an angel she was, sent directly from above. She raised her little sister, and taught her to be a wonderful adult pup. She went through many of our life events, and taught us to be stronger, as she was her whole life, never complained, always happy.

My hedgehog Dillan Quilliam, D.Q., passed away Sunday, August 1st. He had cancer, but stayed strong until the end. I can't believe I had him for almost 5 years. Willow was born September 25, 2011 in South Dakota. She became our baby 6 weeks later as a spur of the moment purchase for our son. Little did we know how much she would mean to all of us. Cutie was a sweet girl born in an oil field in Southeast Texas just after hurricane Rita. My parents had just lost their pup so they happily adopted her. She loved her life in Texas. Then 4 years ago my parents moved to Minnesota. All of a sudden Cutie wasn't an only child, she had to learn about cold weather, and deal with snow. She took it like a trooper. The Geeg, G, Gigi Butt, Princess, Sweet Girl...just Gigi. Gigi was saved by PawsCo in Colorado and adopted by our family in 2014, she was around four years old at the time. Gigi wasn't shown love her first few years on earth but she was loved unconditionally once she became a member of our family.
