Pyrenees puppy update! Sally and Lucy are now 6-months old and 70 lbs. They have quadrupled in size since we met them in September (last photo). They still are as soft and fluffy and gentle—and they will add on probably another 50 lbs🫣

On Friday I had to say goodbye to my best friend, furry son, and boss—Buzzy Meepers (Meepy Pie, Meeps, Painiac, Peepers, among other names). Buzzy’s intestinal cancer progressed a lot during December and when I came back from visiting my Mom, I knew I had to face my worst fear. I miss him so damn much. I was allowed to adopt him at 6 weeks because he was already so active. While the other kittens nursed, Buzz was playing with a ball. And he never slowed down. Not until a few weeks ago. He loved being outdoors and I would call his name and whistle for him to come inside. He understood many words and he was extremely smart. He liked sitting behind my head while I watched tv and liked going on the hammock with me. We’d walk to my mailbox together. He flicked the window blinds to wake me up and knock things on the floor to tell me he was hungry or wanted to go outside. When I got out of the shower, he would sit on the toilet lid waiting to be brushed. He liked smelling my makeup and products. He loved vanilla ice cream, butter, shrimp, and cheese. I called him Mr. Friendly as he made neighborhood friends while outside. I also called him the “Junior executive” because he was always busy doing something and I said, “he was working his way to the top.” I think he made it to the top—to the top of my heart. I will always think about my great guy and miss him terribly. I have snuggly Lyle to mourn with but there is an emptiness💔

The main force behind New Canaan Dogs is going away for a few days and was lucky to bump into Fitzedo and his Mom on the way to the train station. They walked with me and parting was sweet sorrow for my curly-haired friend (as you can see). It feels good being loved and soon-to-be missed by one of my DBFs (dog best friends)😘

Great Pyrenees puppies pupdate! Sally and Lucy are now 6-months old and 50lbs. Notice the size comparison photos with Rosey the Great Dane and a little terrier. The puppies will mature to approximately 120 lbs!! Every time we see them—their growth is evident!!🤩

We had a spectacular trail walk today with Rosey Bones and DJ Donna June. The trees were beautiful, the leaves were falling, the sky was blue, and the temperature was a perfect 52 degrees. We met a number of dog pals on the trail and we’ll be back real soon🌞
