This page was created so that people Gerti understand what a gentle giant this almost 200 pd dog weighed. Gerti weighed in around 170 pounds and She lived in the tri-state area Unfortunately she passed a few years ago. We lost Jack the Labrador first then Gerti and five months after that Fritz passed away. It was very sad because it was like they couldn’t live without each other. While Fritz was

alive I adopted Annie who is a dog de Bordeaux or they call her a French mastiff or even just a mastiff. Instead of adding additional dogs to my Family I took in a few adopted cats. They were outside feral cats and I brought them in and was going to bring them to a shelter and they just became part of the family and they all get along great. I’m sure in the future you’ll be seeing more pictures of them. While I miss my dogs I realize I’m getting older and needed to slow down a little bit. But I’m always willing to help out an animal in fact I’ve had two squirrels and God knows what else will be coming my way. I’m an animal person through went through and always looking to help out. It’s amazing to me that my Annie is over five years old already and I don’t know what I would do without her. This breed is one of the most sweetest sensitive breeds that I’ve ever known. Although my aunt Rita says she has a face to stop the truck I believe she is one of most beautiful dogs there is. Stay tune for more pictures of the whole family. You just never know where it’s going to end

Our Story

This page was created so that people understand what a gentle giant a French Mastiff (Doque de Bordeaux) is. I’ve tried to add some fun and interesting other breeds and fun stories. This page is just for fun. I am not selling a thing. It’s almost like a memorial that keeps the memories of my puppies alive and I love to do it. Gerti had weighed around 196 pounds before she passed from Lymphoma Cancer - she lived between Long Island and Rockland County, NY. Fritz and Jack were her buddies and when the passed so closely - I was devastated - luckily Annie was on her way. She is now over two years old and an only do - truly spoiled but has a heart of gold.. Thank God for her because she made my pain a little less. Annie was born in Kentucky and I flew out on St. Patty’s day and drove all the way home with the baby. She was spoiled from day one. I was glad she got to know Fritz but only a month before he had passed. Without my animals I don’t think I would complete. I started volunteering at ten years old and things were quite different 30 years ago. Working at a kill shelter at a young age changed my outlook on people - not animals. How stupid people can be and how easy it is not to increase animal populations. Things have gotten much better but still there is a lot of work to do. So with that said - I try to keep it somewhat light to laugh at our friends but once in a while a story comes in that I feel may help educate. They may be heartbreaking but what my eyes saw at a young age was heartbreaking. Most people couldn’t handle it. I don’t know how I did. I still remember so many things. I called it a death camp of animals (and this is a small area) - What I saw - people wouldn’t want to see - so my goal is to keep this page happy and enjoy these wonderful animals.
