Adoption Guidelines - Estate Planning
The Animal Shelter Society, Inc.

This is exactly why part of the adoption application process for The Animal Shelter Society asks anyone who is 18 - 88 years of age “in case of your demise - who will care for your pets”. We complete that individuals background/reference checks as well. This is so very important. The amount of family members who give up/surrender their parents (usually senior) pets is staggering. Please make arrangements for your pets. It is so very hard on these animals & once they come through the doors - they begin to deteriorate through no fault of ours. It is unfair to the animal & to our staff. Your pet deserves to be kept with family members they know & have given unconditional love to. 🐾♥️

Update - MoJo’s feral kitten
Mealtime

My little buddy isn’t ready to be friends. But he has been completely accepted by Midnight and the other feral adults. The kitten is well now. The antibiotics I put in his food cleaned up his cold and eyes. And he has put on weight. I can always tell when the cats are feeling better because they spend more time grooming. What a handsome cat! A genuine New Concord feral cat. Just like your mom Mojo (RIP). And her mom Hope (RIP). And your Great grandfather Alex. And his father Shadow (RIP). And his father Spot (RIP). And his father Sasha (RIP). And his father Marcus (RIP). And all of your ancestors and their friends. And especially Toby (RIP). I am your guardian. All of us will always love you. And this is your home.

2nd UPDATE - Predator - Lakeside Drive
Silver Fox = Red Fox with “Melanism”
It is not an exotic pet. Accordingly to Wikipedia, the "silver fox" is actually the exact same species as the familiar "red fox".

So it looks like James Vanfossen and Alli McKirahan were both partly right. James said "that's definitely not a grey fox. It looks like a "silver fox". And Alli said it's a "red fox". According to Wikipedia and other sources, both of them are right. But according to other articles on the internet, both of them are also wrong. It is not a friendly exotic pet. It is just a common wild "red fox" with an unusual amount of pigment in its skin and fur.

I can only speculate with very limited information, but I believe it migrated into this area in search of food and shelter and a mate. Trapping and relocating is not an option. It is a wild animal. And it does eat small cats. Hunting season for foxes runs prior to breeding season from November 10 - January 31. Hunting on private property requires permission from the owner. There is no limit.

Breeding season in Ohio is from January to March, with peak activity in January and February. Red foxes are monogamous. Gestation period is 51–53 days. Litters usually have 4–9 kits, but average 4–6. Foxes typically have one litter per year. You might see foxes in your neighborhood or yard during breeding season.

UPDATE - Predator - Lakeside Drive
Not a Grey Fox - Confirmed Silver Fox
It is a pet. The fox is in extreme danger. This is hunting season for foxes. It should be trapped and relocated to a safe environment asap. I have given suggestions in several of the comments below.

Morning Post- Jon Bates sent me these pictures this morning. A large grey fox chewing on a bone under his bird feeder. Fox do well in the winter months as long as they can find food. They like to eat rabbits and small cats
