ℹ️ REMINDER! ‼️

•I will be away for my 30th birthday Sept 27-30 & again October 11-13. The rest of the year will not be effected by my travel & you are free to reserve your dogs kennel in advance.

•The last few pics are my Cami girl and her hematoma we have been dealing with for the past week! She has had it drained twice already and has to wear a head wrap 24/7 but she’s doing the best she can be! Over the next few days all of my boarding dogs will check out & I will begin preparing for my trip to Acadia National Park! If I am absent online, that is why— but you are always free to text me if you need me 💛

Please. Remember. Your. Dogs.

I saw a lady in my neighborhood walking her dog on the asphalt just this morning. With temps into the 90s, the street temp gets REALLY hot. Skin destruction starts at just 125 degrees within 60 seconds. Your animals can't tell you how they're feeling. Common sense.

THINK about your PET'S PAWS!!

Here are the projected PAVEMENT temps this afternoon. Asphalt is much hotter upwards of 150 degrees +. Skin destruction on paws can happen in 60 seconds with ground temps at 125. Grass and dirt are the safest areas to walk your pets!

It’s HOT ☀️

& it will continue to be hot for the rest of the week with some days predicted to feel like over 100° 🥵

A few things to keep in mind when it comes to your dogs in the heat!

•the blacktop is HOT! If you wouldn’t walk on it because it’s too hot, they shouldn’t either. On an 86° day, asphalt can reach 135°, and on a 100°F day it can reach 160°

•The best parts of their body to keep cool are the paws, legs, belly/chest & armpits. If your dog does end up overheating, apply cool towels to these areas

•Every day in the summer I fill up plastic pools, splash pads, sprinklers, etc to make sure the dogs have a way to keep themselves cool while they are playing. If you don’t already, I highly recommend having some form of pool/water toys available to cool them down in the summer 💦 🐕 ☀️

•Senior, overweight, & brachycephalic (short muzzle) dogs are at highest risk of heat stroke so their time outside should be extremely limited during excessive heat like we are experiencing this week

•Double coated dogs do NOT benefit from being shaved down in the summer. It kills me to see this, please don’t do this. Doing this makes them hotter, as their coat acts as cooling insulation, and exposing their skin also sunburns them ❌

• Jelly bean is one of those dogs that forces me to remember exactly why I love doing what I do—she sits present in the moment and thoroughly enjoys her time with me, as I do with her. Jelly’s very first time boarding here was like she had done it 10x before and she made us smile from the moment she got here to the moment she left.

Cash & Keira ready to work!

These two work as an awesome team to herd my pit bike, running backwards/ forward, and playing outfield to make sure the bike never gets out of their line of direction & control. Cash usually plays the role of being up as tight to the bike as he can, redirecting all of my attempts to break away and turn. Keira usually plays outfield where she waits for me to manage to break away from cash and she will run from whatever direction is needed to intercept me and redirect me back to Cash.

They coordinated this strategy very quickly together and it makes me smile to watch them play against me as such a bad ass team 🐾 💛 🏍️

Adoptable Jack enjoying the sunshine ☀️ Jack is deaf 🧏 and will require a home with no children. He is dog friendly but because of his disability a home with no other animals would be best. I think Jack would do best in a single person home or a home with a couple without kids. He has been trained by @precisiondogsport on e collar and understands his hand signals Mike has taught him. He thrives with structure and good routine. He loves his kennel! He also loves playing ball/tug, LOVES to eat, and loves to snuggle up with a comfy blanket and take a good nap. He makes me laugh every day with his goofy personality and I love being able to have a bond and mutual understanding without ever having to use words with Jack, he’s a special boy who has put the work in to find a forever home 🤍 If you or anyone you know would be a good fit to adopt Jack & would like to meet him, reach out! 🐾

Goodbye 2023 This year I started my own business. This year we moved into a new house and redid it from the ground up. This year I spent more time with animals then humans. This year ive learned more about myself than ever before. This year has taught me how to perservere for ME. This year has taught me to put my oxygen mask on first before rushing to help others with theirs. This year has taught me people wont always be happy for your success, even the people you expected to be. I look at the previous years and the person i was as a house someone else built. This year I laid a brand new foundation to build my own house, from the ground up. This year I learned the only way out is through. •Are you or someone you know looking to adopt a member into the family? Please take a moment to read about Jack! • Jack is 100% deaf— 2.5 year old hound mix. He was left at a shelter a few years back scared & reactive. The shelter wasn’t able to provide the recourses needed for Jack to be successful in life so he was scheduled for euthanasia. •Jack was rescued by his foster mom and enrolled in a behavioral modification training program with Mike @precisiondogsport. Mike rehabbed Jack, taught him sign language, and created a language for Jack to clearly understand using the E-Collar • Jack is independent but also loves being right up in your space with you. He LOVES a good routine. He’s a super fast runner and loves ripping around the yard with his toys. Jack likes other dogs but needs to be managed while interacting or playing with them— he has more of an aggressive style dog-play & makes some goofy sounds that some dogs are unsure how to take. •He has special needs and that has to be taken into consideration with every interaction he has weather with new people or animals.
